Hush sweet dreams
Of spun gold and silver
kiss your cheek a blessing goodnight
Now close your eyes and drift into wonderland
where all your dreams will come true
And no more suffering or pain will last
Only love to carry you through the times

Wrapping paper
bringing gifts to wide eyed children of wonder
surprises and golden hearts and smiles and laughter
wielding a treasure within, fragile paper

wrap my heart in silk you will
hold it close you will
hiding me from the fears and night creatures of the world
that threaten to harm me
but eventually the heart will slip
and lightning and shards of darkness will dip
and the fragile heart will crack
maybe more than once
a little more than thrice
and eventually will break

midnight stars of swirls and dancing whims
she treads upon the hill
she reaches out a hand
to touch the moon she oh so desires and
it fades from her grasp
but the lights continue to blink at her unsure
half certain partial whispers of secrets and lies
she covers her mind she shuts it out with the darkness her soul brings
when her heart breaks in two under the pressure of losing
the one she loved

She used to be able to see
when the world was breaking
but now she
She used to be able to smile
brighter than orion's star
but now she
She used to be able to weave dreams from
the tips of her fingers
but now she
She used to be able to hold his hand
kiss his cheek bless his lips
but now she
She used to be able to hide her frowns
her small little wiles
but now she
She used to be able to stroke the roses
he gave her when he said goodbye
but now she
But now the roses are gone
and she is broken
her bones cracked shattered splayed on the floor
he is gone
And so is she.
