Inspiration:

I haven't written anything in a while and I was pretty bored on the train home, so I decided to just mess around with random ideas that popped into my head and see what I could write. Love you all♡

Broken scribbles, pencil marks

Chipped juggling pins and building blocks

Assorted paper flowers of rainbow colours

Imaginary sapphire feathers of ocean birds and woodland creatures.

Misted woods and cold metal.

Woollen fabric and freezing veins, clutching tight

She grips the hand of her lover tight

Slings an arm o'er her shoulder but -

She falls, she falls, she fails.

Coloured lights grin mockingly while her eyes flicker open

It was nothing more than a dreamy hallucination.

Are these beautiful, intricate patterns on those walls

Simply woven to entrance with lies and not truth?

Does the saint sing high in the midst of white moon

Or does she creep to death and darkened despair in the blackness of midnight?

Emerald eyes, ruby fire light

The brush of the fair soul's legs upon the soft, warming rug

A velvet seal of promise on a letter

Folded, stamped, pen set aside with its navy ink

Narrowly blotting the edge of the crinkled paper

with pleading.

Should she celebrate and dance along with the townsfolk

To the merry music and joyful tune

Or should she remain shaded under her comforters till the sun peeks

from beyond the horizon, signalling a new dawn?

The red roses beckon to her from their vase,

Old, wrinkled, dried-out petals once filled with life and vibrancy

But now only dreaming for a drink of water

Their leaves and thorns shrivelled, weaker than the many forested twigs.

-

Reaches out to the glassy bulbs above

Colourful, twinkling, strung along the thin threads of suspension

And powdered snowflakes purify the streets while all the children

Smile and dance in the midst of warm coats and bundled up gifts.

Surprise, surprise

A smile singing along with millions of others in happiness

Magical twirls of feeling and utter beautiful love

We share a common wish and glorified heart.

But never forget those cold nights on empty pavements

When those without a home had to wander along aimlessly

The only warmth coming from the doors of houses with perfect families

And their fingers icy cold, noses red and lips numbed a pale purple.

Scented empowering of true meaning

Swirled into the creamy foam of hot chocolates

With kith and kin gathering round a burning fireplace

Singing hallelujah till the end of time.

-

But sweetness always coexists with the bitter

And things never sail smooth for too long.

Everyone was so much better, and she struggled with herself

For too long.

A conflicted dilemma and a burning pain

She could never see things the same

Before, she had some level of confidence

Now, she laid defeated, without any trace of assuredness.

Lights? Love?

What did that ever account for if they all left?

She wasn't much more than a fragment in this

Less than picture-perfect world, anyway.
