Spencer Reid

Telling Him
"Are you ready for this?" Prentiss asked me. I shook my head rapidly in answer.
   "No!" I panicked. "What if I am not ready? What if Spencer -"
   "Nat, calm down." JJ laughed. "Everything is going to be fine, trust me."
   "How would you know?" I asked pathetically.
   "Well for one," Garcia spoke up, "you and Pretty Boy have been married for a year now, and two: Reid wants a family!"
   "Really?" I sniffed.
   "Yeah!" JJ nodded enthusiastically. "Have you seen the way he interacts with Henry and Jack? He adores children. He wants children."
   "And you're giving him that." Prentiss added. "So go out there to his desk, and give him the stick that says you are pregnant!"
   Feeling confident at their words, I stood up from my place at a closed toilet and marched my way out with the girls trailing behind me sending me encouragement. It's been two years since I joined the BAU team, two years since I fell in love with Doctor Spencer Reid at first sight, and a year since we've been a married couple.
   We know everything about each other from our troubled childhood, our horrible past, and now. We need this, yeah! We need some more happiness. Why not have a child create that happiness?
   I walked into the bullpen and saw Spencer having a chat with Morgan at his desk, seeming to laugh at something Morgan said. I noticed he was absently playing with his wedding ring, making me smile.
   When I reached them, Spencer's eyes shined when he saw me and stood up quickly, giving me a quick kiss. "Hey!" he greeted me. "You okay now?"
   "Why? What happened?" Morgan asked concerned.
   "Nat was feeling sick this morning." Spencer explained. "And just before she went to the toilets."
   "Ah, you're not getting a cold, are you?" Morgan grimaced. "Nasty things. . ."
   "It's actually a good thing!" I beamed. They sent me confused looks.
   "What?" they said.
   "How is vomiting a good thing?" Morgan wondered.
   "It's a good thing because of this!" I lightly chucked the pregnancy test on the desk that was covered with paper towels. The two men stared at the item suspiciously, before Spencer went to it and moved the tissues away. What he saw made him gasp and look at me with wide eyes.
   "No way!" he gasped. "Seriously?"
   "Oh my God!" Morgan exclaimed. "Is that -"
   "I'm pregnant!" I squealed, giggling nervously. Will Spencer really like this?
   "This. . .is. . .AMAZING!" Spencer yelled. He wrapped his arms around my waist and twirled me in a circle, laughing madly. "I'm going to be a father!"
   Cheers came from the rest of the team, along with other agents that heard our commotion. Spencer placed me down and gave me a kiss on the lips, his eyes glassy from tears. "I love you so much." he said, his forehead leaning against mine.
   "I love you." I beamed.
   "What's going on?" We all turned around to see Hotch and Rossi making their way to us curiously.
   "Heard quite some yelling from our offices." Rossi added to what Hotch said. Spencer gave me an excited look.
   "Nat's pregnant!" he blurted out. They both looked at me shocked, before smiles broke into their faces.
   "Congrats, Nat!" Rossi congratulated, planting a kiss each on my cheeks. Hotch soon followed, giving me a hug.
   "I'm really happy for you two." Hotch said.
   "There's going to be a mini genius!" Garcia squealed. "How cute will that be?"
   "Or annoying." Morgan joked. "Just what we needed, another walking encyclopaedia."
   Spencer and I rolled out eyes at their humour. "Waking encyclopaedia or not, I am going to love my child." I said proudly, Spencer agreeing.
   "Get ready for the torturous nine months, Reid." Rossi chuckled. "You're soon going to be making errands for your pregnant wife."
   "Oh well," Spencer shrugged, placing a hand protectively over my stomach, "as long as the baby and wife are happy, I will do it."
   Aw's went around the team. "I love you." I said, giving him a kiss on the lips.
   "And I love you." he smiled. He then turned to my stomach. "And I love you, little one."
