His Left Behind Family
"James Buchanan Barnes!" she yelled out angrily. "How dare you eat my freshly made cookies!"
Bucky popped his head up from the sofa, giving his fiancée a weak smile. "I love you?" Bucky attempted to get on her good side.
"Bucky!" she moaned, collapsing onto the sofa, laying on his lap. "You know I was craving for them! What happened to looking after your one-week pregnant fiancée?"
"Now that you put it that way. . ." Bucky grimaced, placing a loving hand on her stomach. "Sorry doll face, I forgot that you're eating for two now. Secretly."
"That's why we should just get married now." she shrugged. "Go and elope. Way cheaper. Steve can be our witness."
"You know how people are," Bucky sighed, "they want a wedding."
"You know it's also frowned upon to have sex before marriage." she frowned.
"Don't worry, we'll get through this." Bucky assured her. "It's not like capturing Zola will be hard. He's a scientist, not a fighter! I'll be back before you know it."

And how wrong he was. . .

He sat up with a gasp, realising he was sweating and his clothes were soaked from it. He released a low groan, slowly getting out of his mattress. Walking to the kitchen, he took his shirt off while he was at it, his metal arm glinting in the moonlight.
He sat at the counter, worn-out journal in his hand with a pen. He started writing the memory down, though his handwriting was more shaky than usual because of how different the memory was to his other ones. His other memories consisted of HYDRA, Captain America, and the Howling Commandos. Only just finding out he had a pregnant fiancée that was probably dead by now? Something you don't see coming.
He looked out the window, mind haywire. He still couldn't believe he had a fiancée that was pregnant. He couldn't believe it at all. From what his memories told him, he was a player. How does she come in? Is she even alive still? What about the baby?

He needed more plums.

Bucky sat on the ground, his arm trapped between two heavy metal equipment. He looked around through his dizzy sight, wondering what happened. Later on Steve and Sam Wilson came, wanting answers. He gave them their answers, but he wanted his own answers.
"One of the memories I regained. . ." Bucky murmured. Steve turned to him curiously. "There was a woman. . .she uh, she was yelling at me. Mad that I ate her cookies." He looked at Steve desperately. "In the memory she said one-week pregnant fiancée. Was she. . .?"
"Your fiancée?" Steve finished for him. "Yeah, she was."
"What happened to them?" he asked him quietly. "What happened to her and our child?"
"She. . ." Steve sighed sadly. "She gave birth. It was a baby girl."
"A girl." he whispered, releasing a small laugh. "Wow, a girl. . ."
"Yeah." Steve agreed. "She's a doll. . .from what I saw on the old photos and videos. . ."
"W-What do you mean?" Bucky asked in confusion.
"When Taylor had the baby. . .I was down under. Frozen. Howard Stark and Peggy Carter were there for her though."
"Steve, what happened to them." Bucky demanded quietly.
"Taylor recently died from old age." Steve gave in. "It's just your daughter now."
Bucky snapped his head up at his words. "She's still alive?"
"Yeah, she is." Steve smiled at him. "Her name's Jane Sarah Barnes. She's a famous author. Her bestseller was the story about her parent's love for each other."
"Steve. . ." Bucky whispered, "we need to get this stupid mission over with. I want to meet my daughter."
"We will." Steve promised him. "I promise you that."

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Steve asked him.
"I can't trust my own mind." Bucky told him. "It would be best for me until they know how to fix my mind. It would be best for everyone."
"Okay." Steve nodded. "Just. . .don't do it yet."
"Steve. . ."
"Trust me," he interrupted the Winter Soldier, "you'll wanna hold it momentarily." Steve turned to the door. "You can come in, now!"
"No. . ." Bucky's eyes widened in shock. He knew who Steve was calling out to. And he couldn't believe it. When she entered, it just about made him glad he was still sitting down because he would have fallen from shock if he wasn't.
Jane looked just like her mother, except instead of brown eyes like her mother, she had her father's blue eyes. But other than that, she had her mother's black hair, pale skin, lithe form, face structure. . .
"Jane?" Bucky whispered. "Is that. . .is that you?"
"Dad?" she whispered. Bucky almost broke down when she called him Dad. "Dad. . .Mum, she. . ."
"I know, I know." Bucky whispered with a sniff. "C-Can I hug you?"
"Of course." Jane took five long strides to get to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Bucky wrapped his right arm around her waist, holding her close. He hated it. He hated how he missed most of her life because of HYDRA. He hated how he lost the love of his life because he was too late. He hated that he was leaving too soon when he just reunited with his daughter. He hated everything.
"You look. . ." Bucky swallowed. "You look like your mother. Beautiful."
"She said I had your eyes." Jane rubbed her thumb underneath his eye. "She's right. I heard so many stories from Mum, and she missed you so much. . ."
"I miss her too." Bucky nodded, wiping away his tears. "I missed the both of you as soon as I got my memories back. H-How are you here?"
"Uncle Steve kept in touch with me as soon as he found out about Mum and I." Jane answered, smiling at Steve who was a couple steps away from them, giving them privacy. "Told me stories about the two of you as well." She turned to him with a frown. "Are you sure you want to do this? Go under cryo?"
"It's the best for everyone." Bucky sighed, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. "I'm dangerous still. Metal arm or not. I'm sorry I'm leaving already when we just met. . ."
"It's okay." Jane smiled in understanding. "If that's for the best. . .the sooner your mind is fixed the better, yeah? Then we can catch up and do things a father and daughter do together."
Bucky smiled at her response, cupping his right hand to her cheek. "She raised you well." he whispered. "I'm proud of the both of you."
"She'll be proud of you, too."
"I know she will." Bucky rolled his eyes playfully. "Wouldn't stop reminding me back in the days of how proud she was of me." The two shared a small laugh. "I'm going to miss you, pumpkin."
"Going to miss you too, Dad." she smiled sadly at him. "Oh and. . .all those bad things you did. I forgive you for them. You weren't in the right mind."
"Thank you." he whispered. He turned to the waiting cryo chamber. "It's time to go."
Placing his first and last kiss to her temple, he made his way to the chamber. While the people were getting him ready, he stared at the two most important people in his life. "Look after my daughter while I'm gone." Bucky told his childhood friend.
"With my life." Steve nodded. Bucky gave Jane one last smile.
"I love you." he told her.
"I love you too." she smiled at him. "See you soon, yeah?"
"See you soon."
