The Seer - Part I
Riddle walked into Divination with his usual charisma and charm, though deep inside he was angry and frustrated, wanting to know his future and be immortal already. But he couldn't find his future. The classes weren't helping him.
He sat in his usual spot at the back, crystal ball in the middle of the table. He listened intently as the professor explained their activity, getting to work as soon as possible. But like always, he got nothing. And the activity was merely tea reading.
"Would you like me to help you?"
Riddle jumped from his concentration, turning his wide eyes upwards to the person towering over him. It was a student in his class - a student he never saw in the classroom. He hid his anger towards her and placed his polite face on.
"Pardon, what was it you said?"
"I asked if you wanted me to help you." she repeated quietly. "It looked like you were getting frustrated."
Oh you have no idea, he thought bitterly. But on the outside, he placed a kind smile on his face, and nodded with a sheepish look. "I wouldn't mind, actually. Admittedly, I think I missed a step or something."
"It's okay," she waved off, sitting across from him, "Most people don't understand these stuff." She handed him a cup of tea. "Drink, please."
"So," he took a quick sip of his tea, "you know how to do this?"
"I know how to do a lot of stuff, Mister Riddle." she murmured, pushing his cup gently for him to continue drinking his tea, "you'll have to be more specific." He hid his disgust and frustration at her and drank more of the tea. He gave the cup to her afterwards and watched her read his tea. "But yes, I know how to do Divination. My family are seers."
"Seers?" he perked up at her words. "So you can see anyone's future, yes?"
"Mh-hm." she hummed. "Shh, let me concentrate."
"How come I haven't seen you before?" he couldn't help but ask. "I honestly haven't seen you before until now."
"I tend to stay in the shadows, away from all drama and nonsense." she waved off. "I decided to walk out of the shadows this lesson to help you. I always see you trying so hard to do this."
"You do?" He stared at her surprised. "You watched me?"
"How can I not?" she snorted. "I can basically feel your determination from where I sit at the front." She cleared her throat, staring down at his cup warily.
"What," he demanded, "what do you see?"
"Darkness," she mumbled lowly, "death. So much death and fear and suffering. . ."
"Really?" he looked at her doubtfully. "That's what they all say -"
"I see an immortal being, attempting to rule over the Wizardry world." she cut him off. "Many deaths and torture to get there. He is feared among. . ." Riddle felt satisfaction at her words. He knew who she was speaking of. His future self.
"Interesting -"
"He dies in the end." she suddenly blurted out. She moved his cup around a bit. "He dies by a boy. . .peace and victory in the end when the immortal becomes. . .no more."
It was quiet between the two.
"Such. . .evilness." she shivered. Next thing they knew, class ended. Quickly, she stood up and walked away. Riddle quickly went after her.
"Wait! Hang on a minute -"
"Please, Mister Riddle," she whirled around, revealing her tears. He froze in surprise. "Please don't go down that path. . .and please, leave me be." She walked away before he could say anything more on the matter.

Since then, Riddle searched for her in Hogwarts, wanting more answers. But she was a seer, and was always one step ahead (or more). When he'd think he'd know where she is, she isn't. He even tried searching the Great Hall during meal times, to no avail. Because of his searching, he was unknowingly forgetting about his initial plan; creating horcruxes and trying to find more information about it.
Walking into Divination, he was surprised to see her at the front table in the open, waiting patiently for class to start. Without another thought, he sat with her at the table. He didn't see her flinch or move away, so he knew that she expected him to come for answers. But he didn't get to ask his questions, because class started. He realised she did this on purpose; making sure class started before he could get any answers out of her.
This time for their activity, it was looking through the crystal ball. They were to tell each other's future from it. Riddle quickly told her to go first.
"I see. . ." she looked at the ball carefully, with utmost concentration. "I see the same thing again. Death, torture, suffering, immortal turning mortal and dying. . ." She pulled away with a glare sent in his direction. "Stop it!" she hissed. "Stop going in that direction! It's kind of obvious that you are going to lose in the end."
"That has been my dream!" he snapped back. "To become immortal! To rule above others -"
"Then you will die and be defeated from a mere boy." she sneered.
"Then I'll kill the boy!" Riddle hissed, showing his true personality. They were silent, staring at each other with glares on their faces.
"Won't be any use." she finally said. "You will still fail."
"And you'd know -"
"I just saw it, dumbass."
"What did you just call me?" Riddle stared at her incredulous.
"You heard me." she quipped angrily. "Dumbass."
"Why you -"
"How are you two going?" the professor came to them with a smile, stopping their argument. "Have you seen each other's future?"
"Yes." she said before Riddle could say anything. "Can I be excused?"
"Of course, my dear." the professor agreed, staring at her with a look of understanding. "Riddle, why don't you escort her out; being a prefect and all."
"Of course, Professor." Riddle said politely, previous personality gone. When they were out of the room, Riddle was suddenly pushed against the wall. "What are you doing -!" he seethed.
"You don't believe me?" she snapped. "Then why don't you watch it yourself!" She placed her hands on the side of his head, immediately bringing him into a vision.
He pushed her away with a gasp, feeling nausea creep up on him. He saw his future. He saw that it was all a waste. He saw his plan fail. Even if he tried a different route, it would still turn to that future.
She stayed a couple metres away from him, looking tired as if what she did strained most of her energy. And it probably did. "You see?" she whispered out. "Don't go down that path."
"I-I. . ." Riddle blinked, taking a deep breath in. "I won't. I won't do it."
