"I'm sorry"
"Loki is possessed." she explained to the Avengers. "He doesn't know what he's doing."
"And how do you know this, Miss Asgard lady?" Tony retorted. Before they were escorting Loki and Thor to the Hellicarrier when suddenly a beam of light had came nearby, revealing the woman: Freya Morellidottir. An Asgardian warrior and sorceress. Also Loki's lover. But Loki didn't get to see since he was already escorted inside the Hellicarrier.
"I think I'd know the colour of my lover's eyes after looking into them for hundreds of years." she said curtly. "And last I recall, Loki had green eyes. Not blue - specifically a light blue from the sceptre he holds."
"What?" Steve turned to Thor. "Is this true?"
"I-I don't. . ." Thor turned to the surveillance camera on Loki and made an agent zoom in on Loki's face. And there it was; blue eyes. "Odin's beard. . ." Thor gasped. "Lady Morellidottir, you are correct!"
"Of course I am." she scoffed with a small smile.
"How did you get here anyway?" Thor asked her. "The Bifrost is still being fixed -"
"There are many hidden passageways to different realms in Asgard, Thor." Freya said cryptically.
"Okay. . ." Steve said slowly. "So what do we do now?"
"Get him out of the spell, obviously." Tony scoffed. "But how?"
"Can you use your. . .magic?" Bruce asked Freya hesitantly. Freya shook her head.
"Whatever is possessing him is strong." she told them. "Powerful. . .like an infinity stone."
"They haven't been found in years." Thor shook his head.
"Who knows?" she shrugged. "Loki was claimed dead because he fell off the rainbow bridge. Look where we are now."
"So how do we get him out of it?" Tony asked again.
"Maybe if he sees Freya, he will snap out of it?" Natasha suggested. "Love does crazy things. Maybe it will snap him back to his senses."
"Doubt that." Freya refused.
"It's the best at the moment." Steve told her. Freya thought it over.
"Okay." she gave in. "But I need a rest before I do so. I travelled far, after all."
"Well, Agent Coulson will lead you to a room." Fury spoke up, having only listened to their conversation.
When they were gone, Fury turned to Natasha. "While she's resting, why don't you take a crack at the guy."

Freya looked around at the invading city with wide eyes, watching as all the Avengers tried their hardest to keep everything in check. She needed to find Loki and snap him out of his poisoned thoughts.
She never got to see him before, because the next thing she knew, she was waking up because of the floating fortress that was getting destroyed. She had tried to find Loki, only to go to his cell and see it empty with a dying Coulson. Instead of trying to chase after him, she attended to Coulson's needs. Now everyone thought he was dead as a motivation - something Fury wanted them all to think and therefore told Freya not to tell anyone.
She finally noticed him on Stark's high tower, and using her magic she teleported to behind him. "Loki." she called out to him. Loki straightened his back in shock, slowly turning around. While doing so, his eyes flickered a green at the familiar voice of his lover.
"Freya." he whispered, staring into her brown eyes.
"Loki," she said, "please, stop this. You're killing everyone. What happened to the Loki I knew?"
"He died when he fell off the rainbow bridge." Loki's eyes turned back to the horrible blue. "And so did his love for you."
"No," she shook her head, "I don't believe that."
"Then you are a foolish girl!" Loki roared, running towards her. Freya stood in a fighting position, her face etched with pain at having to fight her lover.

Their fight somehow travelled to inside the building, still hyped with energy to go on forever. It was a sight; the sound of metal clashing together along with bursts of light from their magic. When looking from the ground, all they could see was flashing lights and every once in a while a silhouette of them fighting. It was something Thor didn't like. Back in Asgard, people would see them fighting side by side; not against each other.
It wasn't until Freya mistook a step which gave Loki the advantage did they realise how tired they truly were. "I win." Loki hissed, pressing his sceptre against her stomach.
"L-Loki -" one hand was against her throat, the other right on the sceptre. "P-please -"
"You are beneath me -"
"You're a father!" she rasped out. "I gave birth to a girl - her name is Athena -"
"Lies!" Loki growled, pressing the sceptre harder on her. But he could feel the real Loki trying to push his way into control; her voice was leading him. "You are merely just a distraction." Before he could kill her, she spoke up again.
"Just know. . .you have a daughter at Asgard waiting for her mother and father to return. Look after her. . .and just know. . .I forgive you. And I will always love you."

And then she was stabbed in the stomach.

"NOOO!" Thor yelled, he and the others only just arriving at the scene. Freya fell to the ground limply, and just before their eyes they saw Loki's eyes change from a blue to a green.
Loki looked around confused, only to look down at his hands and see blood on the sceptre and his hand, therefore leading his gaze to the fallen body. Loki recognised her body instantly.
"Freya?" Loki collapsed to the ground beside her, lifting her asking body into his lap. "Oh Freya!" he cried, tears spilling out of his eyes. "Freya, I am so sorry -"
"Shh," she whispered, gasping through her words, "I f-forgive y-you."
"I don't deserve this." he shook his head. "What have I done?" He hovered his hand over her wound, trying to heal her. "Hang on, I can do this -"
"I-it's too late." she whispered, fighting to keep her eyes open. "Stop. . ."
"But. . ." Loki stared at her sadly through his tears. "I-I can't - "
"Look after Athena." she whispered. "Tell her o-our adventures. Our love -"
"No," he shook his head, holding her tighter to him, "I won't have to because you'll be there with us." He started to heal her again, only to realise that the sceptre's power is in her veins, destroying her. Loki moaned out in pain, the tears falling down his face quicker. "I'm sorry." he sobbed. "I-I'm so sorry."
"I love you." she slurred, her eyes drooping down.
"I love you too." Loki quickly rushed out, wanting her to hear him say the words he needed to tell her. "I promise to look after our daughter. I-I'll tell her our adventures - I love you, Freya Morellidottir."
"I love you." she said back. She gave a small content smile. "Thank. . .you. . ." she breathed out, falling limp in his arms.
"Freya?" Loki shook her gently. "Freya? Come on, wake up. It's not funny. Wake up. Freya? FREYA!"
"Loki. . ." Thor appeared behind him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "She's gone."
"No. . ." he moaned. "No it can't be!"
"I'm sorry -"
"WAKE UP!" Loki yelled, shaking her. "WAKE UP! Come on, darling, wake up! Our daughter waits for us - please, wake up! Please. . ." Loki mumbled into her hair, rocking the two backwards and forwards. "Please. . .I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I love you. I love you, Freya and I'm sorry. I'm sorry. . ."
