The Bombing - Part II
One hour, two minutes and thirty seconds. . .
I sighed in resignation, closing my eyes in defeat. There was no way out. They couldn't break the glass because it would just trigger the alarm faster, the bomb was chemical so we can't do much, and there's no neutraliser. Our Unsub was smart enough to not leave one lying around. I was stuck here.
"You should get ready to leave now." I told Spencer quietly. "There's not much time."
"No." Spencer said firmly. "I'm not leaving you."
"Spencer, please -" something flashed in my eyes. I turned to the source and saw a small metal loop attached to the ground. Ignoring Spencer's calls, I crawled my way over to the metal. When I was closer, I saw an outline of a square around the metal loop. I felt hope coming through my veins at the sight.
"Melody? What is it?" Spencer called out to me.
"I think. . ." I slipped my finger through the loop, lifting it with all my might. Finally, it broke free, revealing an underground tunnel. "Spence, I found an underground passageway!"
"What?"
"I'm going in." Turning on my torch, I carefully jumped into the whole, shining my torch around. What I hoped to be a passageway was only a small bunker. A cot was in the corner, canned food and water bottles on a shelf. There was nothing useful. "It's just a bunker." I sighed dejectedly.
"What?"
"It's just a bunker." I said while climbing out of the bunker. "Nothing useful."
"Nothing useful?" he repeated with a laugh. "Mels, that might be the way out! A chance for you to hide for when the bomb is triggered!"
"Spencer. . .it might not work." I told him sadly. He slumped against the door, all hope gone. "Everything is going to be -"
"Don't finish that sentence." Spencer winced, his lips trembling. "Don't say stuff that won't come true."
"Can you promise me something?" I asked him. He gave a small nod. "Move on for me. Fall in love again for me, create a family with that person."
"Melody -"
"Promise me." I begged. He gave me a sad look, opening his mouth to reply when suddenly the sound of someone rushing towards us could be heard. Garcia appeared in all her glory, tears in her eyes.
"Oh Melody," she cried, "we'll get you out, okay? We'll find a way -"
"Garcia," I said softly, "you know well that that isn't going to happen. It's too late, there's only -" I peered at the timer. "Thirty minutes and twenty seconds left." Garcia choked back a sob.
"B-but. . ." she stammered. "You and the baby. . ."
"We'll be fine." I lied to her. "There's a bunker inside here. I can just go in." Hope could be seen in her eyes.
"Really?"
"Really." I nodded, my heart breaking in guilt at lying to her. "Penelope you need to leave now before you get blown up."
"O-okay, okay." she stuttered. "Promise you will be okay?"
"I promise." I whispered, hiding my tears. When Garcia left, Spencer took her place in front of the door.
"Why did you say that to her?"
"I couldn't just say that I wasn't going to make it." I sook my head. "Despite working for the FBI, she's still innocent."
Twenty minutes left. . .
"Spencer, you need to go." I told him, panic and fear starting to creep up on me. "There's not enough time."
"No." he shook his head. "I'm not leaving you."
"You have to." I told him. "You need to live on and fall in love -"
"No!" Spencer yelled, hitting the glass door. "I can't lose you! Not when I just found out that you're pregnant with my child. Not when everything was going okay - I-I can't lose you. . ." Spencer fell to his knees, his head bowed, his form shaking from the sobs that came out of him.
"Spence. . ." I whispered, tears escaping my eyes as well. I saw Morgan creeping up to Spencer in the shadows. "I'm sorry for what's going to happen."
"What do you mean - LET ME GO, MORGAN! LET GO!" Spencer started struggling in Morgan's arms, being pulled away from me. "Melody! Melody!"
"I love you." I called to him, my sobs escaping loudly. "I love you. . ."

Spencer's POV
"LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" I screamed through my sobs, struggling to get out of Morgan's strong arms.
"A little help, guys!" Morgan called out above my screams. Rossi and Hotch eventually came, helping Morgan carry me away to safety.
"N-no, I can't leave her." I cried. "Please, I can't lose her! She's pregnant!"
I saw in the corner of my eyes Garcia crying into JJ's arms, Prentiss hugging the two with tears pouring out of their eyes. I even saw Hotch and Rossi holding back tears.
Just when we reached the safety area, a large boom could be heard. We all instinctively covered our ears from the loud noise, even being knocked off our feet from the aftermath of the explosion.
I turned back to the house that exploded, screaming out Melody's name, though hearing nothing but the ringing in my ears. But despite that, I started making my way towards the blown up house. "Melody!" I yelled, ringing gone. I could hear the team at my heels, calling me back. "Melody, I'm coming!"
I quickly went to where the lab would have been, looking around for any signs of her. I started pushing away rubble, looking for her. "Melody? Melody, where are you!"
"Reid, it's too late." Morgan said sadly. "She's gone."
"N-no!" I refused, looking around madly. "Sh-she can't be. The bunker -"
"Reid," Rossi said quietly, "I'm sorry son, but it's too late."
I fell to the ground on my knees, sobs taking through my body. No, she can't be gone. . .there was a bunker, she has to be alive!
"Spencer -"
"Shh!" I lifted my hand up to silence them. Hope gathered inside me. Please let it be what I think I heard. . .
I quickly crawled through the debris, ignoring the pain that went with it and started pulling away rubble at the sound of something banging on something. More hands came and started to help me, having heard the banging as well. "Melody? I'm coming!" I called down to her excitedly.
"We need medics, now!" Hotch barked from behind us. We finally got rid of the rubble despite our cut-covered hands, and lifted the lid of the bunker up. There in all her glory, was Melody. She was covered in dirt, coughing madly.
"Melody!" I breathed out in relief, pulling her out with all the strength I didn't know I had.
We collapsed on the ground, my back hitting the rubble with Melody on top of me. Crying with tears of relief and joy, I started peppering kisses all over her face. "Oh my God!" I cried out through the kisses. "You're alive! I love you, I love you so much and I am sorry for acting that way to you -"
"Spencer, shut up." Melody breathed out a laugh, bring my face down so our lips connected. I happily kissed her back, bringing her closer to me - if that was even possible.
"I'm sorry." I said again. "You can name the baby when it comes - I'll look after you more, and -"
"I get it, you're sorry." she interrupted with a small laugh. Her smile faded, tears gathering in her eyes. "I was so scared it wasn't going to work." she whimpered.
"I know, I know." I pressed a kiss on the to of her head. "You're okay, you're okay."
"I love you." she whispered to me.
"I love you too." I mumbled, bringing her into a tight hug.
