"Please Mom?" Jude asked.
"No Jude. You're too young." Stef stated.
"Come on Mama, back me up here."
"I would love to, but I agree with mom." Lena also stated.
"But I'm almost 18. Doesn't that count?"
"Yea almost, which means not yet. You're not going." Stef acknowledged.
"That's not fair. You guys were gonna let Brandon go on tour with his band before he was 18."
"Yes that's true, but Brandon isn't you. It's a completely different situation."
"How is it different?"
"Because Brandon was going with multiple people. Which means multiple drivers to drive when one gets tired."
"It's not like I'm going alone. Me and Connor will switch out driving there and back."
"I don't know. I don't think you're ready for such a big trip."
"Just think of it as a college road trip. We'll be safe, we'll stay in a hotel, I'll even call you every 2 hours. Please, please, please let me go."
"Wow. I haven't heard so many pleases in the last five minutes since Jesus wanted to go to boarding school." Stef said.
"I know, he must want this badly." Lena laughed in response.
Jude rolled his eyes at his laughing moms.
"You know what, just forget I even asked. I'll just spend the rest of my summer in my room." Jude started out the kitchen towards the stairs.
"Wait!" Stef called after him. Jude turned around. "You promise to call us every few hours?"
"Yes I swear on my life." Stef and Lena saw the honesty in Jude's eyes. They looked at each other and nodded.
"Ok, go upstairs and pack." Lena said.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Jude nearly screamed in excitement. He gave both his moms a kiss on the cheek before running up the stairs to pack.

"Ok, where exactly are you guys wanting to go?" Adam asked.
"We're going up to San Francisco to give Mariana back her $36, then back down to L.A so I can see mom before she leaves."
"I don't know, there's suppose to be a huge storm tonight."
"We're not leaving tonight. Plus, I mean it will give me time to end the summer with Jude and you can invite Laura over and do whatever it is you two do when I'm not here."
"It's not like that."
"Well whatever you do, you can do for the next week."
"How long are you planning on staying in each place?"
"We'll stay in San Francisco for the night, L.A. for a night or two before coming back."
"Ok."
"Ok what?"
"You can go on the trip, but only if you call and check in every few hours."
"Deal." Connor gave his dad a hug then ran upstairs to call Jude.
