Connor sat on his couch playing video games. He would be with Jude, but his dad wanted him to meet one of his co-workers.

The doorbell rang and Adam raced to open it. Connor looked over and saw a woman with black hair. She looked around Adam's age.

"Hey Connor can you come here."

Hesitantly Connor stood up and walked over to the door.

"This is Laura. She works just down the hall from me." Adam said.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Laura Said.

"Nice to meet you too." Connor replied.

"The reason I wanted you to meet Laura is because...we are sorta, kinda dating."

Connor's smile dropped. The last time Adam was on a date was when him and his mom were still together. It's always been him and his dad.

All Connor could do was turn around and leave the room.

"Will you excuse me a minute." Adam said.

Adam walked up the stairs to Connor's room. He saw him sitting on his bed with his head resting gently in the palm of his hands.

"You ok?"

"No Dad, you are going on a date with a girl you probably just met and didn't even ask me first."

"Look I know this might be hard on you, but I think it's time for me to start dating again. Besides don't you want me to be happy."

"I thought you were happy. I mean, are you dating Laura because I'm not enough? Do you feel like I should get to share you with a girl I don't even know?"

"I get you don't want me to start dating again, but the least you can do is be supportive of it."

"Wow dad, that's low coming from you. I mean you didn't seem to wanna be supportive od me and Jude."

"That's different." Adam said.

"How was it different, because I'm gay? You know I don't need this." Connor shot back.

He ran out of the room, downstairs, and out the door to his car. He honestly didn't know where he was going but he be back as soon as his dad and his girlfriend left.

An hour or two had passed. Connor headed home and into the kitchen. He pulled open the fridge and saw a case of beers. He took them out then headed to the couch.

Before he opened his first beer, he felt angry. By his fifth, he couldn't feel a thing. He turned his phone on and went into his contacts. He texted Jude telling him he needed him. Within minutes, he got a reply from Jude saying he be over in ten minutes.

The doorbell rang but no one answered. Jude rang again. Still no answer. He twisted the door knob and it opened.

Standing at the door, Jude saw a sad and mad looking Connor on the couch.

"What's wrong?" Jude asked.

"Life." Connor responded before getting up to run up the stairs.

"Where are you going?" Connor didn't say anything.

Jude ran and followed him up the stairs. They walked into Connor's room. Connor immediately grabbed one of his old baseball bats and walked to his his wall of fame. (a wall Connor design with pictures of his role models, achievements, life goals, etc.)

"Connor, what are you doing?"

He didn't answer. He just raised his bat and started hitting and destroying the wall.
