"Judicorn I'm tired." The boys were on the road for about an hour before Connor started getting tired.
"Then stop at a hotel and we'll start driving again in the morning." Jude yawned barely keeping his eyes open.
"Can't you drive?" Connor imitated Jude's yawn.
Jude shook his head in response. "I told you I'm never driving again after what happened last time."
"You can't keep living in the past. I mean there's no possible way we could get into another car wreck, plus the last one wasn't even your fault."
"Still. I'm not putting anymore lives in danger." Judicorn yawned.
"You know you'll eventually have to drive."
"Not if I can help it."
"Fine but you're paying." Connor pulled off at Exit 213 then drove until a Holiday Inn appeared in his view. He parked in front of the hotel lobby. He glanced at the clock. It was a quarter pass two in the morning. "Hopefully they have a room." Connor whispered to himself.
"Stay here and stay warm, I'll be right back." He finally spoke to Jude before walking into the Holiday Inn.
---
"Looks like you're in luck. You get our last room." The girl at the front desk dropped the key into his hand. She batted her eyes in a flirtatious way when he looked at her to say thank you. He shook off her annoying tone, realizing girls have brought him enough trouble.Connor walked back to his car to find a sleeping Jude. He smiled knowing it's been a while since he has seen Jude's adorable sleeping ways. Connor gently opened the car door without waking Jude. He picked him up and Jude's first natural instinct was to wrap his legs around Connor's waist and his arms around his neck. He closed the door then carried Jude to the hotel room.
"Connor?" Jude called into his boyfriend's shoulder as they moved to the room.
"Yea Baby?"
"I love you." Connor pulled his head back to kiss Jude. "I love you too."
---
The rebounded couple finally made it to their room for the night. Connor laid Jude down gently on the bed. He yawned; walking over to the bathroom to plug his phone into an outlet. As he walked back, he pulled his shirt off with another agonizing yawn.Connor rolled Jude over so he could crawl into the comfy bed. As soon as he was in the bed Jude was snuggled up into his side. He smiled at the warm touch that he missed for two weeks. Pulling the blanket upon him and Jude, he soon fell asleep himself.
~~~
Connor tired eyes fluttered slowly open. He looked around the room waiting for his vision to come in focus. He flipped to his side; noticing he was back home and all alone.A little panic went through his body as he tried to contemplate everything that was happening. "How'd I get home and where's Jude?" He thought. Nothing made sense.
He stretched over to his nightstand to grab his phone. He went into his contacts to call Jude. It rang four times before going to voice mail. He tried six more times before he realized Jude wasn't going to answer.
"So it was all a dream? Jude didn't actually forgive me?" Connor said to himself.
"Then I better make him forgive me." He peeked out the window at the late Californian sky. He threw on his favorite slippers then slipped out his room to his car.
~~~
"Jude!" Connor screamed through a whisper. He shook Jude violently until he woke up in utter shock."What?" Jude rubbed his eyes and yawned; then made room for Connor to sit.
"I missed you."
"But we just saw each other earlier today."
"No we haven't. You've been mad at me for the past three weeks. Look you might be mad at me for kissing Daria, but I'm not leaving you alone until you forget me for what I did."
"Kissing Daria? Connor what are you talking about?" Jude was completely oblivious to Connor nervous out break.
"The other night. Remember you were grounded and I took you out for ice cream and you caught me kissing Daria."
"When did was I grounded and when did we go out for ice cream?" Jude still obviously confused.
"The day you got suspended for punching Blake. You were so mad at me that you haven't talked to me for almost three weeks."
"Ok, Connor you know I love you to pieces, but you've officially lost it."
"No I haven't. We got in a big fight and it was all my fault and I can't live without you and I don't want anyone else but you and I'm so so so so sorry that I hurt you and I promise never to do it again." Connor had full blown tears shifting down his cheeks at this point. Jude pulled him into a tight reassuring hug.
"I think you just dreamt all that. You didn't kiss Daria and I'm not mad at you." Jude caressed Connor's hair.
"Then why didn't you answer my calls?" Sadness was still in Connor's voice.
"Well for starter, it's two in the morning and I was trying to sleep." Jude released his hold on Connor.
"I'm sorry." Connor let his gaze fall to his lap.
"For what?"
"For waking you up and making you worry about some stupid dream." He still didn't look up.
"It's ok. I was actually starting to miss you. Wanna spend the night?" Connor nodded. Jude scooted over for Connor to lay down. He snuggled into his hold.
"I love you." Connor showed his compassion for his boyfriend of five years. Jude moved his head so he could kiss Connor.
"I love you too." Jude squished himself in side of Connor's body warmth; then drifted off to sleep.
Connor laid awake looking at the window with Jude in his arms. The stars twinkling brighter than ever. They brought a special memory back to him, even if it was only dream.
"Do you know why I love the stars?" Connor asked holding Jude who laid his head on Connor's shoulder. The boys walked through the park on their way to the nearest ice cream parlor. Jude shook his head. "No matter if it's a stormy sky or clear sky, they always seem to spell out your name."
"You want me to buy you ice cream don't you?" Jude knew what the cheesy choice of words was for.
"You know me so well." Connor smiled.
"Fine." Jude sighed.
"Yay." Connor cheered with a wide grin. He connected his lips with Jude's. "I love you." Connor stared into Jude's sparkling eyes.
"I love you too." Jude spoke sincerely back.
Connor smiled at his wonderful thought. He loved every thought or memory he had about him and Jude. He loved it every if it was All a Dream.
