Hours went by, then days, weeks, months, and years. All the time in the world seemed to slip by, but nothing changed. Connor and Jude were still madly in love with each other.

The night after their high school graduation, they were newlyweds. Of course their parents didn't like it, but that didn't phase them. They continued to love each other through their four years of college.

Shortly after, Connor joined the Major League and Jude published his first book. They bought a house and adopted two little girls to celebrate their achievements.

Their oldest daughter, Stacie, is an eleven year old Connor. She loves everything that has to do with sports, especially her talent for baseball. Jamie, their six year old, loved to read and draw. Just like Jude.

"Jamie, sit still." Jude said brushing the little girl's hair while she dragged crayons across her paper.

"Look daddy. It's a rainbow." Jamie held up the picture and giggled.

"It's beautiful, now let me finish your hair."

"Can you do my hair after?" Stacie asked sitting down at the Island.

"I thought your dad already did it."

"Not very good."

"Hey!" Connor said from the stove. He moved the pan off a hot burner then turned around. "You try doing the hair of a stubborn eleven year old. It's not easy."

"I'm just saying, you could've at least made my braids even." Stacie complained taking the rubber bands off her hair.

Jude laughed at the arguing duel as he finished his little girl's hair. Jamie jumped off the chair and ran off. Jude watched his husband and daughter a little more before he interfered.

"You come sit, and you go finish cooking before you burn something." Stacie sat on the chair in front of Jude and Connor went back to cooking.

The room went silent. The only sounds came from the sizzling grease that popped on the stove.

"There, nice and even." Jude used blue ribbons to tie bows on the ends of Stacie's blonde hair. "Now go get ready for school." Stacie hopped off the chair and went to her room.

"Speaking of school, it's your week." Jude added opening the curtains, letting in sunlight.

"What's the schedule for the week?" Connor asked turning off the stove light.

"Well Jamie has parent/teacher conferences then Stace has a softball game tonight. Then tomorrow she has her parent/teacher conference before your game. On Wednesday, Stacie's getting her braces tightened. So she'll probably be in pain for a few days. Thursday, Jamie is getting shots, and Friday-"

"Stop before you give me a heart attack." Connor said interrupting Jude. "When did being a parent become so hard?"

"The moment our kids started needing things."

"Like doing their hair?"

"She's not wrong, you could work on your braiding." Jude teased. He put plates around the table.
