"Are you ready yet?" Jude asked banging on the bathroom door.
"I look stupid." Connor called from the other side.
"Nerds aren't stupid." Jude twisted the doorknob. He stared at Connor as he tried not to laugh. "You look-"
"Stupid? Yea I know." Connor cut him off.
"No I was gonna say you look like the type of nerd that would have sex with the teacher." Jude laughed.
"Jude!"
"What? I'm telling the truth."
"I know which scares me. Other than looking like a slutty student, does it look ok?"
"All of it except your hair."
"What's wrong with my hair?"
"It looks too jockey. You gotta move it all to one side then slick it back."
"Where's your costume?" Connor asked as Jude smoothed his hair back.
"I'm not going to the party."
"It's too late to back out now." Connor pulled Jude's shirt off then handed him his baseball jersey.
"But I have homework to do." Jude slid the shirt on.
"It can wait. I finally got you excited for Halloween and I plan on keeping you that way." Jude opened his mouth to argue, but Stef came in the room.
"Well don't you two look amazing. You still going to the party?" They nodded. "Ok be safe and no drinking." She exited the room.
"You ready?" Jude asked.
"No, you forgot your hat."
"I don't want to wear the hat."
"You have to." Connor swept a few strands of Jude's hair out of his face then put the hat on. "And we can't forget the bat."
"Fine, I'll carry around the stupid bat, but if I hit someone it's not my fault." Connor rolled his eyes.
"Lets go."
"Wait I gotta get my phone. I'll meet you at the car."
"Don't take too long." Connor kissed Jude then ran outside. Jude strolled over to his dresser. His phone ding with a message.
"Better keep your boyfriend in check at this party or it might be your last."

Jude's stomach tingled with butterflies. His mind traveling back to a couple of months ago when he let Blake take control of his life. He pushed that thought to the side.
"Don't let him get to you Jude. Go to the party and have fun. Don't think about him." He thought to himself.
Jude cleared the message then split his Cellular device into his pocket.
"Bye Moms." He shouted before running out the house.

Jude sat at the bar in Alex's kitchen. He flipped through the pages of a magazine feeling pretty bored. Another text message brightened up his phone.
"I see your boyfriend finally decided to ditch you." -Blake
Jude glanced over his shoulder to see Blake laughing with some friends.
