Officially Cumberbatched? A sequel to 'Well and truly Cumberbatched'

Anyway, 'Officially Cumberbatched?' is a story continuing on from my first fan fiction 'Well and truly Cumberbatched', a few years later. Certain details aren't mentioned as obviously in this story as 'WaTC' already fleshed out a lot of detail regarding the characters who reappear in this story.

Three years later...

My house. Sunday. 8AM.

Crying. So much crying.

"Do you want me to go check on him?" Ben asks, barely awake with a soft undertone to his usual deep gravitas voice. I love his voice first thing in the morning. "No, it's only fair I go, you checked on him and gave him his bottle last time." I yawned, as Ben moved his hand from around me and I headed to the room down the hall.

"Right then little man, what's got your lungs going eh?" I asked the beautiful green eyed, brown haired baby boy staring up at me from his cot, screaming his cute but deafening little lungs out. I picked him up and cradled him for a moment and looked at him, smiling a down at him. "You're quiet now aren't you? Little troublemaker." I softly said, and kissed the top of his head. I checked him/ changed his nappy (cleaned my hands) and tickled him for a few moments, walking back to the bedroom with him in my arms as he babbled something I couldn't comprehend, whatever it was it was beyond adorable.

"Seems like he just wanted a wee cuddle and a nappy change." I said getting back into bed and sitting against the pillows as Ben smiled, the tiny person in my arms seemed more than happy to see him.

"Looks like you've got it made baby Arthur. The best aunt any baby could ask for and warm cuddles on demand." Ben said stroking Arthur's hair and we smiled at each other.

"Merlin!" We both called as he came bounding into the bedroom and snuggled up to Ben. "I take it you're a well rested companion Merlin?" Ben said and Merlin replied "Woof! woof!", sniffing little Arthur who giggled away contently and patted Merlin's head. 

"Even though he's clearly been left in capable arms, I bet Andy and Fran are missing him loads." Ben said as Arthur wrapped his squishy baby hand around Ben's finger, giggling as Ben pulled a funny face.

My sister-in-law Fran and my brother Andy are in Australia at the moment for their anniversary; they were going to take Arthur with them but me and Ben told them we'd look after him the few days they were away to give them some time alone for themselves. They were more than happy to let us have him, he's 9 months old now and quite the mover, plus we love kids. Plus this little fella is the sweetest little thing and always smells like strawberries. 

"They definitely are but they're back this afternoon, it's only been a week they've been away anyway. I'm sure they're just fine." I added as Arthur started squirming around and I let him stand up in my lap as I supported him by bringing my knees up a little and he jumped around, occasionally tugging at my wavy hair, it didn't hurt though, he'll be running around before we know it, I still can't believe how quickly time has gone by since he was born. 

"Have I ever told you you're a natural with babies?" Ben asked as he kissed my cheek, I felt my cheeks warm, a few butterflies making their way around my stomach, as always if I'm honest.

"You have, and that's very nice of you to say. But you make me more confident with them in all honesty." I softly said and he smiled, leaning over to me and our lips met for a few sweet moments. 

"I reckon we should get these two fed and grab a quick shower." Ben said as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Shared shower?" I asked looking over at him. "Of course darling" he replied, kissing me on the cheek again. I held Arthur close to me as the four of us made our way downstairs for breakfast.
