Officially Cumberbatched? A sequel to 'Well and truly Cumberbatched'

Chapter 21

AN: Slightly later update, I'm sort of struggling to find  time to write at the moment and I changed my mind about how it should pan out about halfway through so re-wrote it. I'll re-proofread it again I'm just too tired to do it now so sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. I hope you guys like it! :0) 

Wednesday. Evening.

A few hours later I woke up and put my glasses on to see that not only was it now 8PM, but that Merlin was sat on the floor beside my bed, seemingly waiting for me to wake up which was rather sweet. I didn't feel groggy or anything for once which was nice, I was having a good day today, well evening technically. Those things the press said earlier and Ben being snappy wasn't exactly great.

But his mood is because of them so I can't hold that against him. 

"Hey Merly" I said gesturing my arms for him to come closer. He jumped up on the bed and snuggled up to me. "Did you enjoy your walk with Ben earlier?" I asked, stroking his head and he wagged his tail a little before resting his head on on my chest which means he probably did, well Ben's awesome company for anyone. I smiled a little to myself.

"I was a bit of a moaning Mertle with crumpet earlier wasn't I?" I asked and he licked my face as if he was saying yes.

"I feel bad, but um, he has to go Merlin, he knows he does. He's done so much for me, I need him to want to do something for himself, just one thing. Well I think I do, don't I?" I said, sort of thinking out loud.

Merlin moved off the bed and started barking at...my door?

"Merlin, have you pooped on the floor? I thought you stopped doing that when you were a puppy." I jokingly said and hopped towards the door with one crutch. Before he started scratching at the door I opened it and he moved slightly to find a pretty pink box with a little card on it.

"Hmm Merlin, you and your daddy did more than just go for a walk today didn't you?" I softly said and he walked back to my bed and sat in it. 

I picked the box up and hopped back to bed. 'I'm going to get so sick of these crutches soon' I thought to myself. It was cool at school when someone was on them and we'd all take a turn and pretend to use them. It's bloody irritating to actually need them. 

I read the small card that said:

'bow ties are cool. this is for you x' 

I smiled a little to myself at the doctor who reference and opened the box. I found a navy blue sheer paneled french connection dress. "Oh...wow. This is really beautiful, I can't accept this, not after how much I pushed him away earlier, but it really was for his own good." I said putting the dress down gently in it's box and buried my head in my hands for a moment. I got up to go to the bathroom next to my room and Merlin got in the way of the door before I could open it. 

"Merlin" I sternly said, and he stayed put

"Merlin, move" I said

He just sat there, somewhat ignoring me. He's never like this, god what is it with the men in my life today? 

"Merlin, please." I exasperatedly said and he sat there, not moving a muscle

He pointed to the box with his paw and I could understand why he wasn't budging. 

"Fine, I'll put the dress on" I said and he barked a little. He was cute even when he was being stubborn, can you believe that? 

I hopped back to the bed and got changed into the dress. I had a look in the wall length mirror, before I took off the one sock I could wear on my other leg and decided to go bare legged, I couldn't be bothered to put anything else on. "Right, can I leave now Merlin? I ought to freshen up, don't you think?" I said and he moved away from the door and I hopped to the bathroom as he headed downstairs.
