AN: Song for chapter- 'Photograph', Ed Sheeran.
Monday. Morning.
Bed.
"Are you awake now?"
"No."
"What about...now?"
"No Ben." I mumbled hugging my pillow closer, my eyes heavy with sleep.
"Sure?" he asked, his lips brushing against my necks nape, my will to ignore him and sleep dissipating by the second.
"Not entirely seeing as you appreciate stealing my sleep, what time is it?" I grumbled, rolling over to face him.
"About half nine."
"Really? I was hoping to be up by half seven." I yawned looking over at him, twirling a few short hairs at the crown of his head for a moment.
"Really? Why?" he asked, his torso rising and falling with each breath, the warmth of the autumn sun brushing over the fields, flooding the house in its own simplistic, beautiful way.
"Well I thought the dogs could do with an early walk but I guess uncle Col took them out already if I wasn't up; more time with you I guess." I sighed, his scoff only increasing my delight.
"Well I do try to please you when I can; although I'm clearly not quite as entertaining as a Labrador, a Doberman, or a little Morg." He huffed, I smiled leaning on my elbow looking over at him.
"You forgot my baby Artypops!"
"Oh well you know Arty's at the top of the list, broody little thing." He smiled looking up at me.
"Nooooo." I mumbled, adjusting the pillow under me, not that it needed adjusting.
"Yes you are. We both are." He softly said, his palm resting on my side.
"I know but you know, timing." I said, he faintly nodded.
"When the timing's right, we'll get there."
"I know, we've said. It's just you know, hard not to just want it to just happen already sometimes, especially when you see so many little ones out and about at home." I quietly added, lying on my back again.
"What'd you think they'd look like?" he asked looking up at the ceiling, his arm crossed over his chest.
"Who?"
"You know who." He teased, I thought about it for a moment.
"Well I hope they have your eyes, they're gorgeous. I bet they'll have lots of dark curly hair if my genes are anything to go by. Tiny chubby thighs, hands of fingers that wrap around a whole one of ours, they'll be perfect anyway. I like thinking about it, I often do." I said looking over at him.
He smiled. "Great minds then? I more or less thought the same."
"Something like that." I softly said, my hand resting on his.
"What'd you prefer?" he asked, still looking at the ceiling.
"I'm not saying!"
"Why not? It's my half of the chess board that determines gender anyway" he smiled, I giggled for a moment.
"Most people just say sperm Ben, it's not gross to just use the correct terminology. But well you must know my preference anyway, well not preference but what I'd like. Not to say I'd favour one over the other or be disappointed bu-" I almost said.
"Rosie you're rambling now, come on- a boy or a girl? That's all." He softly said, I rubbed my stomach thinking about it.
"Honestly?" I asked.
