Dani.

I had the longest most stressful day at work. Days like this I really miss being in a relationship. He'd rub my feet, crack jokes so I'd feel better. Give me a massage or take me shopping or out to eat.

Or could it just be that I miss him.

I haven't seen or heard from Chris ever since that night at the club three weeks ago.

I mean I shouldn't expect to, we aren't together.

I think I messed up by having sex with him because he's all I can think about.

Quan texts me from time to time but I don't think we're going to work out.

Anyway,

I didn't wanna rush home, I needed to clear my head so I just drove around and I ended up in front of the house he was having built and it was almost finished.

It was beautiful.

I got out the car.

"Oh my gosh. It's just how I wanted." I said.

I thought he wasn't going to go through with it or maybe change everything.

I walked around most of it. This place was huge. I had so many plans for it.

I could see myself living here until my hair was gray. Raising my kids here, everything.

He just has to mess up!

I felt a tear drop down.

Nope! I'm not about to cry. I've been doing just fine. Let me get out of here.

I turned around to walk to my car and I ran right into him.

"You know you trespassing right?"

"I'm sorry, I just didn't think you were still building it."

"You ain't gotta apologize Dani, I was joking."

"Oh." I rubbed my fingers through my hair.

"How was work?"

"Stressful. Very stressful."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"No, I actually should be heading home."

I started walking away.

"Danielle, wait!"

I stopped.

"Let me take you out to dinner."

"Chris I'm in scrubs."

"So what, we ain't gotta go no where fancy." He said. "Please?"

"So am I gonna follow you or what?"

"Let me break yo car in."

"No, hell no!"

"Come on."

"You drive crazy as hell."

"Man give me them keys." He snatched them and started walking to the car. He opened my door. "Come on man I'm hungry."

I took a deep breath then walked to the car and got in. He walked around and got in and pressed the start button. The engine roared.

"Hello beautiful." He rubbed the steering wheel.

"Just pull off."
