"Welcome, Nick and I have called you all here to oversee this meeting as witnesses." I said.

"Alright, down to business- I and most Nobles are outraged with your decree of us feeding on those who are terminal and sick. We should be able to feed on whoever we want whenever we want." Nick started.

"And I believe that what you propose is a risk. Vampires are not to be exposed, and what have humans done to us Nick? We used to be humans…" I replied.

"I get that, but another thing that I and the Nobles hate, is you and your  'vegetarian' vampires. You are not a vampire if you do not feed on human blood."

"I disagree. Look, we vampires are just like ticks, we are parasites. We need blood to survive, and I think that vampires should be able to choose the kind of food they want, a human or an animal. Now, maybe I will let up on the restrictions of feeding on humans, but I will not take away the right to drink from animals."

"And what will you let up on?"

"I will allow you to feed on humans above the age of sixteen, and I will allow you to turn any human who asks for it as long as they understand what they are getting themselves into. So the restriction to feed on the terminally ill or elders is banished. You have fewer limits with your feeding, but I prefer you to not feed on the younger humans." I replied.

"I accept that, write that down." Nick said addressing the Elders.

Once the Elders wrote the new law down Nick smirked. Daniel looked at me and back at Nick.

"But, the Nobles and I are still declaring war, so be prepared for an attack. Also the Muts are starting to side with us, so you are really outnumbered." Nick said.

I looked at Daniel and the Elders, who looked shocked. I had no idea what to say to this.

"Well, I cannot wait for the annual meeting in three days, I guess I will see you then…the last time you will see me as an ally. After the annual meeting the war will officially begin. Good day Andy." Nick said getting up.

The Elders, Daniel and I were silent for a moment. All of us in shock, rapidly thinking of what to do.

"Sire, The law has been written and cannot be changed, and Nick has declared war. All this will have to be announced at the meeting…and on top of that I hear the hunters plan an attack that day?" One Elder asked.

"Yes, all you have said is true." I said still staring at the empty seat.

"Sire, may the past Elders and Rulers look down on you and give you help." Another Elder said.

"We are officially at war once the meeting ends. The Elders are obviously neutral and cannot interfere unless extinction or something drastic happens. Good luck Sire Andy and may you prosper in the war." The lead Elder said.

"Thank you for witnessing this meeting." I replied still not looking them in the eyes, afraid they would see my terror.

Daniel led the Elders out and came back and sat where Nick sat during the meeting.

"Andy…are you okay?" Daniel asked apprehensively.

"When was the last war between vampires?" I asked.

"There has never been one…this will be the first. Everyone in the castle already knows, and Blade has gone to get recruitments for battle. Do not worry too much yet Sire." Daniel said.

"I am terrified, why did Dacre leave me his successor? I have done a terrible job so far."

"He left you successor because he saw something in you, and you are not a terrible leader, you are a new leader, and a leader with new ideas to fit the time we live in. Change is not something vampires are used to or like, so it is not your fault." Daniel said trying to reassure me.

This day could not have gone worse!

I got up and headed to my room. Sabina was waiting there. I didn’t want to deal with her right now, so I bared my fangs and hissed at her. She didn’t move, I glared at her then left to the courtyard. I couldn’t bear announcing that war was going to breakout.
