Walking back downstairs I wrote a note on the kitchen sliding door the bed situation so Jason would know which bed was free, and then went back upstairs to the TV room and slept on the couch. I dreaded going to sleep for fear of more nightmares, but I couldn’t stay awake for I was too tired and succumbed. Waking up, I smelled food being made. I immediately got up and went downstairs to find everyone awake and at the table.
"Morning everyone," I said as I sat down.
"Morning, good to see you," Jason said.
Trace's father was reading the paper, Jason was reading a magazine, Greg was talking to Trace and Alex was looking very happy as the cook was making pancakes, his favorite breakfast meal.
"Happy Birthday Alex!" I said with a smile.
"Thanks, we are having pancakes for breakfast isn’t that great!" Alex said excitedly.
"Yeah, sure is buddy," I said as I started to listen to Greg and Trace's conversation.
"Does everyone know about this Vampire business?" Greg asked softly.
"Not everyone; my dad doesn’t know, but a lot of people do know shockingly,"
"So how are you feeling this morning Trace?" I asked.
"Much better than I was feeling; still a bit sore and tired, but that's to be expected,"
"Violet I was wondering if I could call Andrew today?" Greg asked.
"Sure, dial him up after breakfast," I said.
The cook served Alex and Trace first, and then went around the table. This morning felt normal, which was nice. Everything seemed relaxed. Eating quickly I finished before everyone else so I could go set up the library room for Alex's birthday. I looked at what Luke bought and there were black, green, and white streamers with blow up balloons. I grabbed a stepping stool from the closet just outside the library. I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote to keep Alex out of the library until I was done decorating the room. Walking into the kitchen casually I slipped it to Jason who read it and nodded to me. Going back into the library I started to hang streamers as best I could. I wasn’t very good though… When I stepped back to see my work it was not as I imagined. I started to blow up the balloons when I saw Luke walk by the window. I tapped the window to grab his attention and he laughed when he saw me and the room. Walking over to the window I opened it and he slid in.
"You need help, here you keep blowing up the balloons and I will try to fix the streamers a bit," He said trying to hold back from laughing.
He fixed my streamers pretty fast with his super speed, so he joined in on blowing up balloons. With Luke's help we were done in less than twenty minutes.
"Thanks…" I said looking down.
"No problem. So did you get him a gift or no?" Luke whispered.
"I didn’t have much time….Wait here," I said closing the door behind me.
Walking into the kitchen I saw that Greg was done, I gave him my phone and motioned for Jason to follow me.
"Wow, you two did a great job!" Jason said admiring the room.
"Luke fixed it up; it was not that good before he helped," I said with a soft laugh.
"I can't say what I got Alex because he will hear, but he will like it," Jason said pulling out a small box from his jacket, setting it on the table.
"That is only one thing, the rest are in my bag upstairs. Why don't you two go out and see if you can find something?"
"Okay, we will be back as soon as we can," Luke said.

Walking upstairs, I scrolled through Violet's contacts and found Andrew's number. Nervous, I hit the dial button and put the phone to my ear. With each ring I wanted to hang up from my nerves, but didn’t.
"Hello," A voice said.
"Andrew?" I asked.
"Yeah, who's this?"
"It's Greg, your half brother," I said trying to sound more confident.
"Greg? Seriously! Hi, are you with Violet?"
"Yeah, I am staying at her house to visit."
"How is she?"
"She is good."
"That's good. Um how are you? I mean, well we have never talked but yeah…"
"I'm good, I got my GED and graduated early."
"That's nice."
"What about you? How are you doing with ruling the vampires?"
"It's tough, I really wanted to take time to visit you, I have so many questions… but I can't leave here…"
"Well, I was trying to scratch up some money so I could visit you," I said glad that he wanted to meet me too.
"Seriously? You want to meet me too? I can get our jet to escort you over here, you don't need to spend your money. It would be nice to finally meet you…" Andrew said.
"Really? That would be great," I said excited.
"Yeah, I could get you a plane to ride on by Monday if you wish."
"That would be amazing, thank you!" I said filled with joy.
"Alright, well I will get a jet to you by Monday, I will call tomorrow with more details, but it's good to finally hear from you… I really am excited to meet you and get to know you…it might be awkward but I don't care," Andrew said.
"Yeah, it will be awkward but it doesn’t matter. I guess I'll talk to you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, alright, I'll talk to you later then," Andrew said and hung up.
I couldn’t believe it; Andrew wants to meet me too. I wanted to know so much; I wanted to know if Ben stuck around with them, or if he left them like he did to us, and if he liked Ben or not. He is the only one who knows what I'm going through and I needed someone to talk to about it with. Walking back downstairs Violet was gone so I gave her phone to Jason. Alex was done with breakfast and Trace and his father were talking. Jason took me to the library and told me Violet and Luke did this for Alex. There were three presents on the circular table in the center of the room.
"They went to go get Alex a present," Jason whispered as softly as he could.
"Right… super hearing… I keep forgetting."
"Yeah, well, you will get used to it when you are with Andrew."
"Yeah. So how well did you know him?"
"I have known him since he was turned. He struggled a lot with the change and would hate himself for wanting blood. Violet helped him a lot though. Violet once said that you two were similar, and I can see it. But you seem like a different person completely. You seem stronger than Andrew in a way," Jason said.
"Oh, how so?"
"I fell like you are more confident in yourself. You dealt with your father and that situation pretty well Violet tells me. Andrew on the other hand, when he changed had the worst time dealing. He was not confident in himself and was weak, but has grown much since then and has become stronger. I think that you both have things to learn from each other," Jason said.
"Thanks," I said unsure of what else to say.
