Chapter 59

“It wasn’t the walky talky that led me to you, it was the bite on your neck. Now that I’ve bit you, I can pretty much locate you,” Hypno said proudly.

“Are you kidding?!” I gritted as I grabbed the crossbow and lit the arrow and aimed it at Hypno.

“Don’t be hasty Violet,” Hypno said.

I shot the arrow, but Hypno caught it with his super speed. It did give me time however to get Jack up and for us to run towards Hypno. He just snickered as he tripped Jack. Jack went crashing down and smashed the pavement with force. I swiped at Hypno, only for him to duck and trip me from behind. I opened my eyes and found Andrew fighting with Hypno. It was a mess of black and orange as they hit and punched each other. I grabbed the crossbow and helped Jack up and headed to the castle. I saw Bruce, Blade, and Daniel in the courtyard. Bruce sped up to me and took Jack from me and sped back to the castle. I then ran to Bruce and hugged him.

“I’m so glad you’re safe,” Bruce whispered in my ear.

“I’m glad you kept your promise,” I whispered back.

Suddenly I realized Andrew wasn’t by my side, I looked back to the road and he and Hypno were still combating. I loaded my crossbow and ran back to the edge of the castle and aimed it. Once I know I’d hit Hypno I fired. It penetrated Hypno’s arm and Andrew took advantage of Hypno’s distraction and smashed Hypno’s face with a tree branch. Andrew picked Hypno up by the shirt and dragged him back to the courtyard. I followed along side Andrew and Blade was back and sighed and grabbed Hypno and took him away, probably to the dungeon.

“I am so glad you’re here, and safe,” Andrew said pulling me into a hug.

“Me too, and I’m glad to see you’re all right,” I said as I pulled away.

“We have lots to catch up on,” Andrew said.

“Indeed we do,” I agreed.

“I see you haven’t lost your touch at hunting,” Andrew noted.

“Yeah, and I’m lucky too, since I will have to face Vlad,” I said as I followed Andrew in and forgot about Bruce.

Once in Andrews’ room he showed me the conversation he had with Bruce.

“You know?” I whispered and Andrew nodded.

“Don’t say anything though. Anyways, I heard about Luke, he told you about the law right?” Andrew asked.

“Yeah, I know everything,” I said.

“What happened to your wrists?” Andrew noted.

“Long story,” I replied.

“Alright, you can tell me when you want,” Andrew said.

“Later for sure. Anyways how’s Ellie been?” I asked.

“You want to see?” Andrew asked which made me question if I wanted to, but I nodded.

“Alright, follow me to the dungeon,” Andrew said and I complied.

Once we were down there I saw Hypno in one dungeon and Ellie across from him, her eyes were red and her mouth was covered in blood.

“No…how?!” I asked.

“She asked for it, and we gave it to her,” Andrew said.

“What? Ellie! What were you thinking?” I asked.

“I know what she was thinking, and I’m glad that she changed, we can now be together,” Hypno said and then licked his wound on his arm.

“He speaks the truth,” Ellie said.

“She is a Mut, just like him,” Andrew said.

“She can be…”

“Yes, Bruce can do that, but I doubt she wants it,” Andrew said walking away.

He stopped seeing that I hadn’t moved, that I was staring down at Ellie who was covered in blood. Andrews’ hands were soon on my shoulders leading me back to ground level.

“Wow, I guess Ellie’s no longer a hunter…” I said stating the obvious.

“Daniel, blood please,” Andrew whispered.

Daniel appeared with a bottle of blood. Andrew thanked him and opened it and took a sip.

“You’ve changed… a lot,” I noted.

“Yes, instead of starving myself, I drink now, and lately more than normal to keep my strength up. Is it creeping you out?” Andrew asked.

“No, its fine, I am very glad to see you drink, I mean, its alright,” I said.

“Andrew, may we talk,” Blade interrupted.

“Sure,” Andrew said, “Violet, I will meet you in your room?” Andrew said and I nodded.
