"We'll be right down, show her to the dining room," Bruce called.
"My brother was murdered too, not be a vampire or a werewolf, but by the guy you saved me from when we met," Bruce said and I nodded.
"I guess we should go down," I said.
"Yes darling, I should introduce you to the infamous Diane," Bruce joked.
He offered me his arm and I placed mine in his and he walked me down the stairs.
"Show time," he whispered in my ear as we entered the dining room which made me laugh.
"Diane, so glad you came, may I introduce you to my girlfriend Violet," Bruce said walking me up to Diane.
"Hello Violet, nice to meet you," Diane said with a fake smile.
She was a very pretty woman; high cheek bones like Bruce had, and light blonde hair that ended at her shoulders. She was very lean and wore a beautiful silver dress that was like a slip. She looked elegant and I suddenly became aware of how ridiculous I looked compared to her. There was no competition; she won on the pretty scale. Bruce cleared his throat and sat down at the head of the table with me to his right and her to his left.
"So Violet, you seem young, how old are you?" Diane challenged.
"I am twenty," I lied.
"So what is your major?" Diane asked.
"My major…I am majoring in teaching," I said.
"What do you want to teach?" Diane pushed.
"Well I am passionate about many things, and I want to teach self defense," I said unable to come up with anything else.
"Self defense… that is interesting, why that?"
"Because with the bullies these days I believe kids should know how to defend themselves, and being able to defend yourself makes a child more confident," I replied.
"That is interesting," Diane said as Charles brought us dinner.
"So Bruce, how did you two meet?" Diane asked.
"She actually saved me when we first met, a guy was going to shoot me but because of her
awesome self defense skills she saved me," Bruce said with a smile and took my hand.
"How romantic," Diane said with another fake smile, "So what was your first date like?"
"Well, he really was the sweetest. After I saved him he told me to call him, and I did and he
was so shy when he spoke on the phone. He asked me out, and I agreed. He took me out to
the fanciest restaurant and then he took me out dancing, it was a very romantic first date," I
replied with a smile.
"So what song did you guys dance to?" Diane asked.
"We danced to 'I Can Be Your Hero'" Bruce replied.
"That is romantic," Diane said as she took a sip of her champagne.
"So how long have you known Bruce?" I asked Diane.
"We've worked together for about a year and a half," Diane replied, "Not thirsty Violet?"
"Not particularly," I replied knowing she was challenging me.
"So Bruce, Violet, how long have you two been together? A week?" Diane said staring at
me.
"No, we've been together for a month and a half," Bruce answered.
