We headed over to the university and Bruce asked how I felt about the police interrogation and I told him it was fine…I then asked him about his class and he started to talk all sciencey and I got lost but nodded along as he explained things. Once we parked we got out and started walking to one of the buildings.
"Thanks for nodding along," Bruce said.
"No problem, you lost me, but the stuff I followed seemed quite interesting," I said.
"You don't have to lie you know," Bruce said as he opened the door to the science building.
"I wasn't, genetics is really actually cool, I just get lost easily with science…" I said.
We walked in and we took the elevator to the third floor and got out. We walked down the hall and went into a large room that had a laboratory on the left side of the room with the teaching/lecturing side on the right.
"You know you don't have to sit through my class, you can stay in my office if you want, there's a computer there so you can just go on social networks or play games if you want," Bruce offered.
"I am fine sitting through your class," I assured.
"Alright, well I have to write some stuff down on the board, so choose a seat and the students should start to trickle in," Bruce said as he took some papers out and started writing on the board.
Bruce wrote down some definitions and drew some complicated punnett squares, and was half way done when three kids came in, two guys with a girl. They were laughing when they came in and they all sat in the front row with me.
"Are you new?" the guy who sat next to me asked.
"I'm just sitting in," I replied.
"Oh, well, I'm Danny, this is Grace and Ben," Danny introduced.
"Hey, so I haven't seen you around do you go here?" Grace asked.
"Stop asking our visitor questions and take out your notes," Bruce instructed.
"But there are a couple minutes before class starts," Ben argued while taking his notebook out.
Bruce kept writing as more students came in. The classroom had about eighty students in it when Bruce started the class. He started off by talking about some text that the class must have read, and went on to the theories, and then applied them.
"Now, you have two hours to do your final, go over to the lab, everything is set up, and when you're done leave your exams on my desk. You may get started," Bruce said as everyone got out of their seats and walked over to the lab part of the room.
I stood up and walked over to Bruce.
"It's their final, and school gets out on Wednesday for them," Bruce explained.
"Got it…so that's why you told me I could wait in your office," I figured.
"Yeah…I guess I should have just had you wait in my office," Bruce said.
"It's fine…" I said.
"Here," Bruce said as he went through his briefcase, "I brought two books, and I don't know if you would like either…but that might keep you entertained," Bruce said.
"Sure…let me see them," I said as he handed me both.
Once was a book about the civil war, and the other about psychology. I chose the psychology book and sat down at one of the desks and started reading it.
