Once I arrived at school at nine almost all the graduating students were there, all looking amazing. We all had to take pictures for the towns we lived in for the papers, and then we took our graduating photo that would be hung up. After the photos were done the dean of our grade told us we had to get in line and get ready to walk out to the audience that waited to see us move on to a new journey. Trace found me and saw that I was nervous so he tried to calm me down by saying there was a surprise that awaited me when I walked out which did not calm my nerves at all. He just smiled and walked away after that.
Suddenly the line started moving and we walked outside to the back yard of the school and all I could focus on was not tripping in my heels, until I saw Jason and Alex accompanied by Bruce, Jackson and Charles and I knew that was the surprise that Trace meant. A smile appeared on my face and I felt a lot better seeing the people I care about. Walking up the aisle we all took our seats and the valedictorian went up to the podium and gave a speech followed by a speaker and then the diplomas were handed out. I then heard my name called and walked up to receive my diploma. Walking back to my seat I saw Jason filming it and I shook my head at him. In all the graduation was probably an hour and a half.
After the graduation ceremony the graduates were all saying their goodbyes to their friends and celebrating with their family. Walking through the crowd I was looking for Jason and my friends and I spotted them and ran up to them. I hugged Jason and he took my diploma to get a better look at it and Alex hugged me and congratulated me and gave me a purple rose.
"Congratulations Violet," Bruce said and hugged me.
"Thanks," I replied.
Trace then came up and we congratulated each other and got a picture together. Then Jason took the camera and insisted I get an individual picture with each one of my friends so that took a while, but it was fun. While taking photos I spotted a familiar face in the crowd; Diane. Bruce followed my gaze and his hand immediately went to his coat pocket and looked at me with a 'I'll take care of this' face and started walking in her direction. After a couple seconds I followed behind him casually, not trusting Diane. Once Bruce reached her she gave a weak smile and Bruce took her around the back of the school. I was about to follow them when Josh came up to me and started talking to me about how exciting it was to have graduated.
"Yeah, completely," I replied trying to figure out how far they got.
I gave a weak smile to Josh before I ran away and turned around the corner and saw Bruce and Diane getting into his new car. I cursed and then realized that Josh followed me.
"Why'd you run off?" Josh asked following my gaze to Bruce's car.
"I need a ride, like now, where is your car?" I asked.
"Parked over there," Josh said pointing to the teacher's lot.
"I won't even ask, we need to follow that car," I demanded as Josh and I ran to his car.
Josh started the engine and followed Bruce's car. Josh tried asking me why we were following the car but I stayed silent in the backseat.
"Seriously, why won't you sit in the front seat and why are we following some guy?" Josh asked.
"None of your business, just follow the car, and keep a distance…" I snapped.
I was ready for the car to explode or for Diane to do something to make the car crash again, but the whole ride was fine. Bruce's car went into the gated driveway and I told Josh to drive up to the end of the road. He did as instructed then I got out, and ran back to Bruce's house. Josh parked his car on the side of the road and got out.
