Chapter 27

By four o'clock Trace went home and Jason arrived when Trace was leaving. Jason talked to me about ditching school and I told him about Luke and Silvia and what I heard and that I ended it so Luke wouldn’t hurt me. Jason couldn’t believe it, he didn’t understand why Luke wanted to break up with me, and that's what I said too. Jason said that I could ditch the rest of the week if I wanted to, but I told him I would go to school because if I didn’t then Luke would get sucpiscious. Jason told me to get my homework done so we could go over to Bruce's for dinner.

                Jason called upstairs around six, and I headed down with my taser in my pocket and greeted Jason. He told me to be nice on the ride there and I promised him I wouldn’t do anything bad. When we pulled up to the house I was floored. This Bruce guy had to be mega rich since his house was extravagantly huge. Ringing the door bell a butler opened the door and ushered us in. Jason had a huge smirk on his face and I nudged him. Bruce came downstairs and greeted us and escorted us to the dining room. There were portraits of, I assumed, his family everywhere. We took seats at the table and the room reminded me of the dining hall in Transylvania. The Butler came in and poured wine in Jason and Bruce's glasses, while I got soda.

"So how was your day you two?" Bruce asked.

"It was nice, Vi, what about you?" Jason asked.

"The morning was nice then I ditched the afternoon and that was fun, so it was a good day," I said plainly.

                I couldn’t place it, but for some reason I didn’t trust Bruce, I felt as if he were hiding something. Jason and Bruce made small talk about businesses and such throughout dinner. "Excuse me but where is the bathroom?" I asked.

"Charles will show you," Bruce said as Charles, the butler, came into the room.

                I thanked Charles and went into the bathroom but when I heard Charles leave I left it and had the urge to explore…I don't know what, but I felt as if something or someone was being hidden here. I went down the hall and opened the first door which led to the basement, of course. I took out my flash light and went down the stairs. I turned the lights on when I was at the bottom and I was shocked as to what I saw. It was a laboratory. There were samples in bottles, some labeled Vampire teeth, and some labeled saliva and so on. I continued to walk on and got to what looked like the end, but I felt around for a switch and couldn’t find one. There was a book shelf, and I looked at the titles, I decided to try to pull the vampire one out and a secret wall opened up.

                What was in there was shocking. There was a young man and woman that were chained. They looked at me with shock and the man looked different from the woman, I couldn’t place it but I didn’t think he was a vampire. I put the book back in its spot and the door closed. I turned the lights off and made my way back to the bathroom. I slipped in and flushed the toilet pretended to wash my hands and went back to the dining hall.

"Are you okay Violet, did you get lost?" Bruce asked.
