"Who are you? Why the hell would you go to a prep school?"

"Yeah, we don't need any emo's around here."

"Yeah, why don't you just go cry a river?"

"Or have you no tears left because you're in soo much pain?" another kid mocked.

"Stupid emo!" a preppy girl said, then squealed and backed away the second Trace took a step towards her.

"Get away from her you freak!" a guy defended..

"Stop it! Just shut the fuck up! You guys don't even know him, how can you be attacking him like this? Imagine if you went to a new school, and someone discriminated against you because you wore pink, or you always smiled, or you had brown hair. Isn't that a bit stupid?" I spoke up.

"Violet, why are you defending him?" the girl in pink asked.

"Because all of you are being ass holes, and it's his first day, give him a break or I'll break you. You saw me judo flip Luke last year, I don’t think you want that to be you do you?" I threatened.

"Shut up Violet, I don't need your help. I can fend for myself you know. So back off." Trace growled.

"Well, you sure weren’t doing anything to stop them!" I countered.

"That's because it's useless! I was going to let them get their thoughts out then beat the shit out of them." Trace said instilling terror in the students.

"Trace…" I whispered not knowing what to say.

Trace marched right up to me and shoved me out of the way and right past the teacher. He gave a questioning look and entered. The students all sat down and pretended like nothing happened. I've never seen any of them act like this, I mean, not even towards Luke. I know most students don't talk to him because he is mysterious and unknown, but for the students to start attacking Trace with all that bullshit was horrible to see. Trace never came back to class, and finally the bell rang. I had a free, and when I entered the café I didn’t see Trace like I thought I would. I put my stuff down in the corner I sit and went to the theatre wing. I searched the whole level, and when I came up to the boy's locker room I saw Trace come out with his wrist bandaged. I immediately thought the worst that he was cutting himself, but then again, maybe he got injured during the training sessions, I hoped.

"Trace…" I said gently walking slowly toward him. He had this shocked look on his face.

"Get away from me! Gosh you are everywhere I go!" Trace screamed at me.

"Trace…are you okay?" I asked softly giving a faint smile.

"Why would you care?!" He yelled at me, with fury blazing in his eyes.

"Because, even though we are on opposite sides of an issue, I still spent time with you, and I care about you. I would have thought you would have known that since I made sure you didn’t die or get changed." I countered.

"You just did that so you could save me for yourself." Trace snapped.

"No, I don’t want to hurt you, but I will if I have to. I would do anything to protect my friends."
