"What do you want to do?" Bruce asked.

"I don't know…can I see Diane?" I asked.

"If you want, yes," Bruce said getting up.

Walking me to the basement Bruce seemed disturbed by what happened with Josh. I guessed it was a sensitive topic for him. When he opened the bookcase Diane started yelling and crying and then her eyes landed on me and she became restless and tried to kick towards me.

"Stop it Diane," Bruce demanded.

"How could you lock me here?" Diane whined.

"Did you take her blood?" I asked.

"Yes, and the medicine she used should be wearing off soon… so that is when I will give her the cure," Bruce replied.

"Good to know," I replied.

"Also the vampire cure, I have done it… I did it, and my sister is only still chained because she didn’t trust herself…" Bruce said noting her sister who was asleep.

"Are you kidding? You have the cure?" I asked excitedly.

"Yeah, I was going to tell you but Diane showed up soo…"

"I get it, but congratulations! You really have made history for your family," I said.

"I know…I was determined to figure the cures out, one for my sister and Jackson but two for if my sister has kids and if I have kids. I want them to have a normal life," Bruce said as he shut the book case to a raging Diane.

"So how much do you have?" I asked.

"I have enough for twenty vampires, that's it right now…that is why I worked in the lab during my recovery, I wanted to have as much as possible when we left," Bruce said.

"Wow…I don't even know what to say," I said smiling forgetting about Josh.

"It's alright. Let's go upstairs to a less dreary setting," Bruce said throwing his arm around me.

We went to the top floor and we sat in his bed watching an action comedy. Bruce had his arm around me the whole time and about every twenty minutes asked if I wanted anything and made sure I was alright. And each time I had the same answer of "I am fine, and I don't need anything". After the film was over Bruce's cell phone rang.

"Hello?...Yeah she is here," Bruce said handing the phone to me.

"Hello?" I asked.

"It's Trace, I kind of beat the shit out of Josh when he told me what he did to you, I hope that's alright," Trace said.

"Yes that is alright, he deserves it for what he has done to you and to me," I replied.

"Good…because I really actually did hurt him…I broke his arm and his nose…" Trace admitted.

"What?"

"He deserved it, you know he did," Trace said.

"Fine, he did…I am not angry with you at all, alright?"

"Good, and Violet…Luke is on his way to Bruce's house, he says he needs to tell you something, and I have no idea what so just a warning, but I have to go now," Trace said and hung up.

Bruce didn’t need to ask since his phone was loud Bruce probably heard the whole conversation.

"So Luke's on his way huh?" Bruce said taking his arm away and sitting up.

"Yeah…seems so," I replied.

"Do you still like him?" Bruce asked not looking at me.

"There will always be a place for him in my heart, I wouldn’t be able to turn my back on him ever," I said.

"Yeah, I get that," Bruce said with a weak smile.

"That doesn't mean I would go running back into his arms," I corrected and Bruce nodded his head in understanding.

The doorbell rang and we both headed downstairs, but Bruce waited on the stairs and let me open the door.

"Hey," Luke said.

"Hey," I replied.

Luke stared at me and I noticed exactly where he was looking and I sighed trying to keep my emotions in control.

"You're bruised," Luke noted.

"Yeah, but I'm fine, plus you have seen me with real cuts and scars and shit, this is nothing," I reminded him.

"But it was a human, not a vampire. By the way, Trace, lucky that he has a late birthday, is being held in a cell because of what he did to Josh," Luke stated.

"What?" I said shocked.

"I had to let you know, he told me not to tell you, but you had to know, and don't be angry with him. If you want him to have justice you will tell the police what happened with you and Josh," Luke stated.

"Now?"

"Trace told them why, so they want you to show up tomorrow and tell them, and if there was a witness they should come too," Luke explained.

"Done, I will be there," I replied.

"And also…" Luke said and then kissed me, "That will be our last kiss," Luke finished.

"What? Why would you kiss me? What do you mean that was our last kiss…" I asked.

"I didn't tell you the full story of why my parents didn’t want me to be with you…they only let us stay together because they thought we weren't serious, but we were, and then my dad….always keeping secrets, told me that it was against the law…and it was punishable if we stayed together…" Luke explained.

"What? There is a law for that?" I asked.

"Yes, so I just had to tell you that…"

"Were you punished?"

"What do you think? Andrew, your friend, is the king, and he knows that it would upset you if I were punished so no, I was not punished, nor was my father," Luke snapped.

"I knew it, you are still jealous of Andrew when nothing is happening. And what do you mean your father?"

"He used to be a Guardian of the Laws…so him letting me brake one is just as punishable," Luke explained.

"I am glad that you two were not punished. And I am sorry there is a law like that," I said.

"I guess I will see you when you get back from Transylvania…" Luke said.

"You mean if I get back," I corrected.

"Don't you think like that Violet. You are strong. Last summer when you left I was worrying constantly, and I couldn’t imagine how you were dealing with it, but you did an amazing job, and you will finish the job this time and you will come home successful," Luke assured before he hugged me goodbye and whispered in my ear, "I hope you and Bruce are happy together," and then sped off.
