Chapter 29

"What do you think Vlad is planning, or Nick?" Daniel asked.

"I don't know but it's been dead since that attack where Nick almost died."

"By the way, while you were out searching the forest, Jason called, and he informed me that Luke and Violet broke up. He told me to tell you," Daniel said casually.

"I will have to call her. Why did they break up?"

"Luke said that they were too different, and things had changed or something, but Violet doesn’t believe it, she thinks she did something," Daniel explained.

"I swear, how could Luke do that to her? Anyways, Daniel, I have been thinking very hard and serious about something that is top secret, we need to go to the forest to discuss this," I said as I raced to the forest.

"What is so important Sire?" Daniel asked.

"I am thinking of resigning, and appointing a new ruler. I cannot do this, I think maybe finding one of the elder vampires and appointing them would be better," I explained.

"In the middle of a war?"

"I don't know I just feel as if I've been letting everyone down," I confessed.

"You haven't, you are just inexperienced and not very knowledgeable about the world," Daniel stated.

'Yeah, guess so. I think I should try calling Violet," I said then went to the castle.

                Grabbing the phone it rang and rang, and with each ring I became more nervous. Why, I couldn’t place it, maybe because Violet is now single, and I, stupidly, think I could have a chance with her?

"Hello?"

"Violet, it's Andrew."

"Andrew! I have been worried sick about you, Greg and Alex! How have you guys been since the attack?"

"We've been good, Greg and I have bonded, we do get in disagreements, but that is normal. Alex loves it here, he thinks he is a prince, and well gets treated like one I might add," I laughed.

"That is great to hear! Glad that everything is good over there," Violet said.

"And you? I heard that Luke and you…" I trailed off unsure of how to say it gently.

"Yeah, we are done…" Violet replied, I could tell she was on the verge of crying.

"I am so sorry Violet, really," I said sincerely.

"I know, I just don't know what happened, but that’s beside the point, uh, I do have a question though," Violet pause, "Now that Luke and I are over, I want to know what you are thinking," Violet said shyly.

"Me? I am thinking that Luke is an idiot, and that you deserve better," I said honestly.

"Alright, Andrew, I do need to ask you about something, have you heard of anyone researching Vampires, like scientists, and taking samples and testing them and stuff?"

"Um, no, I haven't, why?"

"I think I've found someone who does… I just wanted to see if you knew anything about it."

"Sorry I couldn’t be of more help, but I have to go. And Violet, when you graduate, maybe think of visiting, I miss you," I said before hanging up.

                Alex came in and asked why Luke would break up with Violet.

"I don’t know buddy, I really don't," I said shaking my head.

"They were together, weren't they supposed to be together forever?"

"It doesn’t always work like that Alex," I replied.

"Why would Luke hurt Violet? They've known each other for ever. He seemed to really care for her, I mean they told each other they loved each other, how can Luke just leave her after they told each other that?" Alex questioned obviously really upset that Luke would do something like that.

"I don't know, it doesn’t make sense, it really doesn’t fit. If you want my opinion, maybe Luke did something he wasn’t supposed to do while with her and felt guilty so he left, or maybe he is doing this to protect her, I really don't know. I just hope that Violet is alright," I said thinking of her.

"I'm mad at Luke," Alex stated.

"So am I Alex," I replied as Greg walked in.

"So they're done? And no one knows why he left her? I want to go back and hit him, why would he do that? When I was there they seemed so close."

"I know Greg, it really doesn’t make any sense, but maybe Luke has changed, it is possible. Maybe instead of being the Vampire kid who does whatever their parents tell them to do, maybe he is going through some rebellious period or something, maybe he is changing, it's possible," I replied.

"Yeah, but gosh, I just hate thinking of Violet being hurt like that. Anyways, I should call my mom it's almost been a week since I've called," Greg said and I tossed him the phone and he left.

"Andrew, Blade has something he must tell you," Daniel said as Blade came in.

"Yes?"

"When talking with Violet, I have heard of scientists who do experiments on vampires and the other supernatural creatures of this earth," Blade started.

"What? I thought we were the only ones?"

"No, but we are one of the most powerful out there, anyways, way back in the day, I was engaged to a young beautiful woman named Cynthia. I was at their house one day waiting for them to come back from a trip and I wandered the house and found a laboratory. There were many things in there that I will not mention, but what Violet described sounds extremely familiar to what I found," Blade explained.

"Seriously? Then you must help her, I don't exactly know what she wants to find or something, but you must go to her and help her with this," I ordered.

"As you wish, I will fly out later tonight," Blade said and left.
