The Unexpected Always Happens

Slowly Losing Hope

Time passes by and evening came about. I couldn't help but think of the huge argument between my mother and I. It really breaks my heart that her heart is filled with vengeance. And she not only wants to seek revenge for my grandmother but for my father as well. I finished all the meetings that I had and I was ready to spend some time with Rhea.

I took my phone out and I was going to dial her number and that's when my moms name appears on my screen. I sigh and answer.

"Hello?"

"Son?"

I sigh. "What do you want mother?"

She sighs. "I'm so sorry son for the way I acted how about we have some dinner to talk over this?"

I didn't know whether or not to believe her. "Mom..."

"Please son give me a chance to make it up to you.."

I sigh. Well I should give her a chance, she is my mother and I love her. "Ok mom."

She squealed. "Ok, how about we have a nice late night picnic out by the lake, just like we used to do when you were a little boy."

I sighed. "You mean when dad would take both of us out?"

She sighed. "Yes and we can honor him by not fighting."

"Ok mom see you in a bit." Then I hang up.

I gather up my stuff and made my way to my car. I get in and drive back home. I get there and walked up to my room. I put my stuff down then made my way to the lake.

As I'm walking I couldn't help but think of Rhea. She blew me away and to think that I was going to kill her. Hopefully after tonight's dinner I will be able to date Rhea because I truly love her with all of my heart. I get to the lake and I see my mom on our favorite picnic table.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw the whole picnic area lit up. It reminded me of my days when I was a young boy with both of my parents. My mom looks up and smiles. She gets up and gives me a hug. "Son so good to see you." I hug her back and nod.

I back away and she caresses my cheek. "Tyler I am so sorry for the way I acted, I know I did wrong." I sigh. "It's ok Mom." She smiles. "How about we dig into this amazing food?" I nod. We go to sit and I gasp at when I see the food. "Mom we haven't eaten this since..." She nods. "I know it was your father's favorite." She smiles.

"Well let's eat." I nod. We start to eat and are having a great time. I had never seen my mother so happy in a long time. She then takes out two glasses and fills them with wine. She then hands me one. She raises her glass and I raise mine. "How about we toast to a happy life." I nod. We clink our glasses and I drank the whole glass.

I looked at my mom and she had an evil smirk on his face. I look at her glass and she didn't drink a single drop. I gasp and stared at the glass. That's when I start to feel dizzy. "Mom what did you do?" She smiles then walks up to me.

"Son I'm sorry I have to do what you couldn't." I gasp and I try to get up but I trip and fall. My eyes get blurry and my eyes quickly close.

Hours later...

I wake up and I'm in a room surrounded by bars. I look around I tried to look for a way out. That's when I see someone in the distance. I see my mother walking towards me and I scoff. "What the hell mother?" She laughs. "I'm sorry son but I need to keep you locked away." I scoff. "Why mother? So you can kill Rhea all by yourself?" She nods. "I can help you..." She hits the bars and scoffs. "No you can't, you love her and that is why you must stay here because I can't risk losing you." I scoff.

"Why would you lose me?" She sighs. "Because if you get in between me and my revenge I don't know how I will respond." I gasp. "So you would kill me mother if I got in the way between you and Rhea?" She looks away. I scoff. "You would rather have your revenge than your son?" I scream. She starts to walk away.

"Mom don't walk away please don't do this, I don't want to lose you!" She stops and turns around. "Mom if you walk away you lose me." She chuckles. "One day you'll Thank me for this son." I scoff and hit the bars. "Mom!" I screamed. She walked out the door and locked it. I start to hit all the furniture.

I reached down to my pocket and my phone was gone. My mother is too deep into this whole vengeance thing and she can't come out. I sat down and leaned against the wall. That's when I gasp. If Rhea doesn't hear from me she'll think I just wanted her for one thing and she will hate me.

I walked up to window and punched it with no luck of it breaking. I sat down and wrapped my hand with a cloth that was on the floor. That's when tears start to roll down my face. I can't believe that I'm going to lose my mother to the darkness and my love to death.
