The Unexpected Always Happens

A New Life?

"Wake up Rhea." I hear a voice say. I groan as I feel the sunlight hit my face. I gasp as I sat up. I look around and I'm in a small room. I thought I was laying on the floor holding someone in my arms. "Hurry up Rhea, we mustn't make her majesty wait." I look up and I see a blonde woman. "Excuse me you are?" She laughs. "Rhea we don't have time for games, I already made her food all that's left is for you to take it to her and her baby." I nod.

"What's your name?" She gives me a weird look. "Jennifer." She says and I nod. Why did her face seem familiar but not her name? I shrugged and went to go change. I put on my usual maid outfit. As I was putting it on I couldn't help but feel odd, was this actually my life? "Rhea hurry." I look up and not at Jen.

I hurried up and walked with her. "So Jen, um do you have any family here?" I asked as we walked into the kitchen. "Rhea you know that I don't, I never got married. I've been living here at the palace since I was a little girl, you're my only friend." I nod. "I'm sorry." She nods. "Well let's hurry up and take it to Zelena." I nod. We grabbed the trays and made our way to her bedroom.

As we were walking I couldn't help but think who the hell is Zelena? As my mind was wandering I come across a young man, and my is he handsome. She smiles. "You have the hots for Ian?" I gave her a weird look. "So that's his name?" She smiles. "He's so quiet though, he doesn't talk to anyone." I nod. That's when I gasp. It was him who I was holding, but how? No of course, it had to be a dream.

We get to the room and Jen knocks on the door. "Enter." I hear a voice say and we entered. "Here's your breakfast your majesty," Jen says and bows. I gave her a weird look. I look up and I see a thin red head sitting on the bed. Jen gives me a look to bow and I bow. I look up and Zelena had a smirk on her face.

That's when I hear a baby cry. My eyes automatically went to the crib. "Well don't just stand there Rhea, bring Robin over to me." I say and stood there a bit confused. "Now!" She screams and I jumped. I walked over to the baby and my is he so adorable. I grabbed him and my was I in love.

"Hey bring him now," Zelena screams. I jump and nod. I hand Zelena the baby and she smiles. I couldn't help but be attached to the baby. I sigh as I looked at them, not going to lie but I had a little bit of envy. I sighed. "Thanks you two are dismissed." We nod and bow. "Please call Lana and Colin, Jennifer." Jen nods.

We walked out and I was so confused. "Lets go Rhea, we need to let them know the queen is asking for them." I gave her a weird look. "So she's the queen?" She nods. "Rhea are you ok?" I stayed quiet. "You were ok yesterday, what happened?" "I'm ok." She gives me a weird look. "Come on," she says and I nod. I follow her down to the guards hall.

We get there and we see Colin and Lana. That's when I see Colin there and he straight up smiled when he saw Jen, like his face lit up. I couldn't help but smirk, he likes her. "Umm Colin, Zelena is asking for you and you too Lana." Jen says nervously. They both smile and nod. Lana walks away and Colin is standing there just staring at Jen.

"Thanks Jen," he says and Jen smiles. He walks away and I give a huge smirk to Jen. "You like Colin don't you?" She chuckles, "that's absurd, he's dating Lana." I gasp. "He is?" She nods. "I mean Colin is the head of the guards while Lana is his right hand woman." I gasp. "Isn't Ian a guard?" "No he's a stable boy." I nod.

"Well I need to go make my way to the kitchen and prepare lunch, remember you have to go and take care of little Robin ok when Zelena goes out for her afternoon walk." I nod. She walks away and I stood there confused. I looked out the window and looked out to the village. I sighed as my mind started to wander. It was like all this was normal to me, like my conscious self knew everything and everyone yet everything seemed off and unfamiliar.

I guess this was my reality and what I thought was real was only just a dream. I couldn't help think that all this wasn't real. That's when I make my way to the nursery. I see Colin and Lana walking out. They both smile at me and walked away. I looked back at them and Lana was hugging Colin. Man did I feel bad for Jen. I could totally tell she liked Colin and vice versa yet he's with her. I guess I was just mad that my friends heart is breaking.

I walked in and Zelena sighs in relief. "Oh good you're here," Zelena says. "He's been crying non stop, please take him I need to go on my afternoon walk." I nod. I grab little Robin and he stops crying. She gave me a death glare then smiled.

"Ok," I say and nod. She walks away and leaves me alone with Robin. "Hi there, little one," I say and he instantly smiles. My was this little boy melting my heart. I sat on a rocking chair and rocked him. He starts to coo and I smiled like crazy. I looked at him and sighed. I felt so bad for this poor little thing, his mother is such a snake. What would I give to have a little one like him. He moves his mouth around my chest which meant he was hungry.

I went and grabbed a bottle. "Here you go little one," I say and started to feed him. He started to drink and he would just hold my hand as I held his bottle. I don't know why but I got all teary. I thought my life was different, in my dream these people had other names that I couldn't seem to remember. I guess I wanted to escape this life so much that my mind thought that by dreaming I can escape it.

Robin let's go of the bottle and I sat him up. After a couple of minutes patting his back he let's out a little burp. I smiled. I held him up against my chest and he smiles. Oh how I wish I had a family, I don't know anything of my life. Was my life just like Jen's? I sigh, well at least I have her. I'm blessed to know that at least I have one friend in this familiar yet strange land.
