I wanted to enjoy a day with no meetings, no worries, no interruptions, no nothing. I was not going to be the queen of Birmingham today. Today I'm just going to be the daughter of Emma and Killian Jones. I will spend the day with my mother before I tell her something that will for sure disappoint her.
I got up and changed into my normal clothes. Not clothes that the queen wears but what I usually wear. I put on a nice black top with dark blue jeans and black flats. I was going to be Rhea today not the queen. I walked out of my room and walked over to my parents room and knocked. "Come in Rhea." I smiled and opened the door.
"How'd you know it was me?" My mom smiles. "No one ever knocks and you do." I laugh and that's when Leía comes running by me. "What the hell Leia?" She laughs and hugs mom. "Why can't I go out with you guys, I am not a little girl." I laugh. "Sure you're not." She sticks out her tongue at me. I roll my eyes. "Sweetie, maybe some other time we can go out but today it will just be me and your sister."
She scoffs. "And besides your father is taking you and your brother out to the lake to fish." She smiles. "No way it's been forever." My mom smiles. "And go horseback riding." Leía gets up with a huge smile. "Oh I am so ready, hope y'all fun girly girls." She says and runs away. My mom laughs. "That's your daughter mom." I say and she nods.
"Well you ready to spend the day and you're going to go out like that?" She asks. I nod. "I want to be Rhea today not the queen." She smiles and caresses my cheek. "Well you can be but you have to be with your guards at all times." I scoff. "Ok but as long as they maintain their distance." She smiles. "As you wish my daughter." I smile.
We drove into town and just enjoyed ourselves. Even though our guards were with us we were able to have fun. We had grabbed some ice cream and drove back to the palace. Since no one of importance was home I knew it was time to let my mother know. We sat in the drawing room and just talked about how awesome our day was.
"Mom, I need to tell you something?" "What is it Rhea?" I sigh. "Mom would you ever be disappointed in me?" She gave me a weird look. "What do you mean?" I sigh. "Like if I were to do something that's not worthy of a queen would ever be disappointed in me?" "Rhea what do you mean?" I sigh. "Look Rhea the only thing that would disappoint me is if you compromise your happiness." I gave her a weird look.
"What do you mean mom?" She smiles. "Rhea it will break my heart if you compromise your happiness for anything so other than that I wouldn't be disappointed." I smile. "Mom I'm pregnant." Her eyes shot open. "What?" I look down and nod. "How far along are you?" I shrug. "I found out yesterday."
She nods. "Who's the father?" I look down. "Tyler." She gasps. "Tyler?" She blurts out. I nod. That's when tears come rolling down my face. "What type of queen am I mother? I'm having a baby out of wed lock and my child's father most likely ran away because he got the one thing he wanted from me, sex." She sighs as she hugs me. "Oh my sweet baby girl." She says as she caresses the back of my head.
"I am so sorry mom, I let you, dad, my siblings, and our great nation down." I back away as I'm sobbing like crazy. "No sweetie don't say that. You have been a great ruler and simply because you got pregnant doesn't mean you have let any of us down." I smile. She then kisses my forehead.
"Oh Rhea I am not disappointed, how can I?" I smile. "How about we go to the doctor to figure out how far along are you?" I shake my head. "No one can find out mom." She smiles. "And no one will but we need to find out how far along you are." I nod.
We walk down to the royal doctor and get checked out. I laid down and the doctor starts to do an ultrasound. He was checking and it seemed like he couldn't find the embryo. I was starting to feel relieved. That's when the doctor smiles. "There we are." I sigh but then smile. "Well your majesty it seems that you are nearly four weeks pregnant." I nod.
"The baby is very tiny in this stage of the pregnancy so you must take extra care of yourself and take your prenatal medication." My mom smiles and I nod. "Doctor Reyes, I hope we can maintain all discretion please." He nods. "Of course." I smile.
"Thank you so much Doctor." He prints out two pictures of the ultrasound. "I will be monitoring you weekly your majesty, I will let Wendy know so she can coordinate your visits without raising any suspicion." I smile. "Thank you so much." We walked out of the doctors office and made our way to my room.
I couldn't help but stare at the picture of the ultrasound. I was seeing my little baby there. I couldn't help but cry. Why was this happening to me? I thought Tyler changed, I thought he loved me but no he left and now my child won't have a father.
I sit down on my bed and my mom sits at my side. "You ok?" I sigh. "Yeah I'm just.. well you're going to be a grandma." She nods. "Yes I am so happy." I nod. "Mom can you let Wendy know that I will be in the back old entrance of the palace." She nods.
I make my way to the entrance and sat there just staring at the ultrasound. I put it in my pocket and just closed my eyes. I was trying to relax. That's when I hear someone walking up to me. "Wendy I wish to be alone." That's when I hear an evil laugh.
"Too bad Im not Wendy." I open my eyes. I gasp. "Regina?" She laughs. "Yes sweetie now it's time for her majesty to go to sleep." She blows some dust to me. I cough and in a matter of seconds I quickly fall asleep.
