Chapter Four
Justin's P.O.V.
I couldn't wait to see Lexie again. Last night was so much fun just getting to hear her voice and watch her reactions. I was really bummed out we lived so far away from one another but I was visiting California in less then two weeks.
I wasn't going to tell Lexie, I wanted it to be a total surprise. She still lived in the same house from all those years ago so I knew exactly where I was headed to. Dad and mom were really supportive of me trying to spark up the relationship with her again.
How I got along without talking to her for ten years I'll never know but right here and right now she was within my grasp. I was not going to let her go, I was willing to do anything for her. She hasn't mentioned much of her home life so I was curious as to why.
I couldn't wait any longer, I had to hear her voice. Quickly I set up the area in my room so she could see me and clicked the little icon. I waited and waited until the connection started going through.
Her face popped on the screen as she smiled, "Hey Justin"
"Hey Lexie" I smiled back watching her face light up. It must be a lazy day for her, her face was completely clear of any makeup and her hair was up in a bun. "What are you up to?"
"I'm just cleaning my room a bit, hang on I'm going to turn my music down" She ran out of view as I heard the noise quiet down. "Okay I couldn't hear you" she chuckled adjusting the screen of the FaceTime.
I laughed, "So what were you listening to?" I asked. Surprisingly you could tell a lot by what a person listened to.
She blushed which I didn't understand why. "I listen to a lot of things but I was listening to skillet"
My eyes widened in shock, none of my friends that were girls touched rock. "You like skillet?"
"Yeah I know it's weird" she laughed fixing the loose strands of hair that had fallen in her face.
"No no it's not. I'm just surprised that you even listen to them"
She chuckled as I heard a door creak open. We both turned around at the same time checking if it was ours. A smile found its way on Lexie's face as I heard the clinking of heels. It had to be her because my door was still securely shut.
A girl that appeared around Lexie's age sat down next to her. The girl was very beautiful I'd have to admit. Her blonde hair cascading down her back and her dark green eyes were covered in makeup. I watched as the two embraced and the girl focused her attention on me.
"Oh who is this?" she asked in a teasing tone. I just glanced between her and Lexie.
"Kara this is Justin, Justin this is Kara" Lexie smiled motioning between her and the screen. So the mystery girl had a name.
"So this is who you've been talking about" Kara laughed nudging Lexie in her arm. Lexie blushed discreetly nodding. "Nice to meet you Justin"
"Nice to meet you too Kara" I smiled watching Lexie's reaction. This was not the same girl I knew ten years ago. She seemed so shy and timid. I wonder what happened that changed her.
I heard some yelling as Lexie rolled her eyes. "Hang on I will be right back Justin" she smiled before standing up. "Bradley! Don't-" she shouted shutting the door behind her. Something was going on, I wasn't sure if her and Bradley got along but from the looks of it they didn't.
Kara shook her head, maybe this happened a lot. Lexie might have still been in shock that her best friend and brother were dating. I didn't blame her though, it would be weird for me too. She never really talked about her feelings but I knew she wanted them to be happy even if she didn't like the idea of it.
