Chapter Fifteen

Lexie's P.O.V.

I stretched my tired muscles rolling on my side to see the sun streaming through my curtains. Summer really was my favorite season, especially the fun days at the beach. I sighed turning on my back as I felt someone stretch next to me, I don't remember anyone staying with me last night.

They wrapped an arm around me as I sprang into action punching them right on the jaw. "What was that for?" Justin groaned bringing a hand up to his face.

I gasped realizing he stayed with me last night, "Oh my gosh, Justin I'm so sorry! I usually sleep alone, I just forgot"

He chuckled as I raised my hand to see if I did any damage, "It's fine love, I've been hit harder then that"

"I'm really sorry, did I hurt you?" I asked hovering over him to see if that punch did anything.

"Nah" he smiled setting me on his stomach, "You can hit pretty hard though"

"Guess those self defense classes actually worked" I laughed steadying myself on him. This was never something I had done before.

Chuckling he patted my stomach then let his hand linger there as he got a weird expression on his face. "Do you have a six pack?"

"What?" I laughed lifting up my shirt. Unlike most girls I was very comfortable with my body, it didn't bother me exposing too much when close people were around. "I do not"

"Okay a faint one" he chuckled tracing his fingers around the outline of it. His touch sent shivers up my spine, no one ever did that to me.

"Lexie! I heard you were home by yourself again! Why didn't you-" Garrett stumbled into my room, he had a spare key to my home in case of situations like this. "Oh, am I interrupting something? I-"

"Garrett! Stop right there!" I yelled pulling down my shirt as I climbed off Justin kissing his jaw where I punched him. He paused looking very uncomfortable, he had been acting weird all week and I was determined to find out. Getting up I pushed him into my desk chair standing in front of him. "What's going on with you?"

He looked down crossing his ankles, this was never a good sign. "It's nothing"

"Nothing? You've been avoiding me all week! Is it about Marilyn?" I asked as he shook his head. Marilyn was his sister that had been born with Down syndrome, he was always so worried about her. He normally shut down when something was wrong. "Jamie? Kara?" I pressed on with the questions, he was telling me.

"No! You are going to ask until I tell you the truth aren't you?" He sighed. Crossing my arms I glared at him. I wasn't giving up. "Okay fine! It's him!" he threw his arms in the direction of Justin.

I was confused, how could this has anything to do with him. "Justin?" I asked then realized knowing Garrett probably did something stupid. "Oh my gosh, what did you do?"

"I just-you are going to kill me if I tell you"

"Well obviously it's between you two so I could easily ask him and he would tell me so talk"

"Oh alright" he sighed slouching down in the chair. "I may have told him one night that I was thinking of asking you to be my girlfriend"

"You what?"

"I was only trying to protect you! You had no idea who this guy was or what his intentions were! Lexie after everything you've helped me through I just wanted to keep you away from anything or anyone that might hurt you"

I was shocked, he was willing to play the role of my boyfriend to keep me away. It did make me angry, yes, he didn't think I could handle things by myself. "I can't believe you Garrett! You don't think I can take care of myself?" I shouted in his face inching closer.
