Chapter Thirteen

Justin's P.O.V.

I could not believe I was walking out of that theater hand in hand with Lexie. When she came running, literally running up to me I had to pick her up and twirl her around. Now I got to hear her laughing in person.

The look on her face was priceless, I'll never forget it. Her smile said it all, she was just as happy as I was that we met up again. She introduced me to everyone there, she even tried Garrett but that coward ran. So much for trying to protect her. It didn't seem to phase her much she spun around with that bright smile.

Kara was nice enough to let us borrow her car so we could go out. I suggested ice cream because if I remember correctly that was the best way to get on Lexie's good side. Opening the car door for her she slid in with a quick thank you. Being with her confirmed my thoughts over the past two months, she was mine.

"Do you remember your way around here?" she chuckled as I climbed into the drivers seat, apparently Lexie didn't have her license.

"A bit, things change much?" I laughed watching the amused expression on her face.

She nodded in response to my question. "Well there's a coldstone by staples, it has tables outside"

"Sounds great! How do I get there?"

She laughed giving me directions. It was just down the hill or boulevard. A few minutes later we stepped out in the hot summer heat, I forgot how much California heated up. As we were walking I grabbed her hand earning a huge smile from her.

Laughing she started swinging our hands back and forth, yeah the same Lexie. I chuckled stepping inside the ice cream shop with her. It had been so long since I've eaten ice cream from an ice cream parlor, we always bought the cartons of it.

She ordered a chocolate ice cream with brownie bites, cookie dough, and Oreos in hers. I laughed, typical girl loved chocolate. I didn't know you could mix things into the ice cream, that was really neat. Finally I decided on banana ice cream with sprinkles and actual banana slices in it.

Pulling out my wallet Lexie grabbed my arm. "I'm paying for this" she reached into her back pocket.

"No you're not. I offered to take you I'm paying"

The cashier started chuckling, this was probably common between friends. "I couldn't ask-"

"You didn't ask I offered. I'm paying for it Lexie" I handed the guy my card as Lexie sighed. Knowing her she will try to pay me back.

"Well thank you that was really sweet" she smiled grabbing the tray with the ice cream and waters on it. We walked outside and grabbed a table by the small fountain. For a summer day it wasn't really busy, then again it was Wednesday. I looked around noticing this place wasn't here the last I remember. "They built it a few years ago"

My eyes met her seeing hers were lit up with amusement. How did she know what I was thinking? "Yeah I was wondering that"

She laughed scooping some of the ice cream into her mouth sighing as she let it melt. I chuckled shaking my head, "Good?"

"Very, I haven't been here in a while" once again smiling, "Here, try it" putting some more on the spoon she slid it into my mouth. It was honestly like things never changed.

"Wow that's good" I laughed letting her taste mine. She chuckled pointing her finger that it was just as good. "So how's life been?"

"Alright I guess, just going with the flow" she shrugged. "Besides being a pro fighter how's yours?"
