Chapter Eleven
Lexie's P.O.V.
Today we decided to have a beach day. Bradley and Kara, Garrett and Jamie, then Noah was coming along since he wasn't able to take me out Saturday night. It should be fun, I loved the beach.
I looked over my outfit, a pale pink maxi dress over my peach bikini. Grabbing my sandals I placed my floral fedora on my head to match my beach waves. Always had to look good no matter where we went.
Running down the stairs I heard familiar voices chatting with one another. They all smiled as they glanced at me and off we went. Noah pulled me to his side as we climbed into the car. I still couldn't believe he was 26! What would a 26 year old want to do with an 18 year old?
"You look beautiful, pink is definitely your color" Noah whispered in my ear causing my cheeks to heat up, I really don't know how a simple compliment could make me blush so easily, Justin even noticed it.
"Thanks" I smiled watching everyone pile into the car. Jamie sat in the back with Noah and I while Bradley and Kara rode up front with Garrett. Garrett's car luckily fit all of us and it was a convertible which I adored.
We all smiled as Garrett pulled out and we began our journey to the beach. He turned on the radio and we were as happy as could be. I was surprised my parents let me go but it was probably because Bradley was tagging along. I didn't need my big brother for everything, I was 18 for goodness sakes!
Noah smiled taking my hand in his. He wasn't a bad guy or bad looking, he was very attractive but something told me he wasn't for me. His crystal blue eyes were gorgeous but honestly I preferred green eyes, which I would never tell Kara because she would refer to someone certain.
After an hour of letting the wind whip around us Kara began taking pictures of all of us. She took a ton of me and Noah which I wasn't too happy about, nothing was going to happen between us. It was surprising to me that he would want to spend his day with a group of teenagers but he was Bradley's friend.
I noticed Kara kept texting on her phone. Usually she put it away when it was a group hangout but she was typing like crazy on that thing, "Who are you texting Kara?"
"Oh um I'm uh texting Amelia, she wants to know if Garrett is going to enter that competition" she smiled a crooked smile, she only did that when she was lying.
I watched as Garrett turned to Kara with a confused expression on his face. Now I knew she was lying, "Why couldn't she ask Garrett herself?"
"She um forgot his phone number"
"Okay" I responded as her shoulders slumped in relief. Yeah she was definitely lying. What was my best friend hiding from me?
"We're here!"

Justin's P.O.V.
The plane was full of people going on vacation, summer really was the time for breaks. I got a seat next to mom and Troy while dad sat behind us. He didn't get much sleep the night before so I had a feeling he'd be passed out the whole flight.
It would be a five hour flight from here to California. I couldn't wait, tomorrow I would get to see my best friend face to face again. I would text her but she was too afraid to give me her phone number, her parents really instilled fear into her.
She was probably still a little skeptical about me, although we had been talking every day the past two months we still didn't know each other. I was so excited to be able to wrap my arms around her in a hug and learn things about her, yeah I had it bad.
Kara had been texting me ever since I told her we were boarding. They were having a beach day, just going and hanging out. She was really trying to set Lexie and I up but I didn't mind one bit, I thought I was in love.
She kept sending me pictures of Lexie, her smiling holding on to her hat, playing out in the ocean, her and Kara posing, even one of her and Bradley. I smiled browsing through all the pictures.
"Whose the girl?" mom peeked over my shoulder up from her magazine. She had a faint grin on her face as she glanced from me to my phone.
"Lexie" I answered my lips twitching up into another smile at the mention of her name. My favorite picture was the one where she looked purely happy letting her hair blow in the wind hanging onto her hat.
"She's beautiful" mom had a huge smile on her face now, I nodded completely agreeing. "Wow, she's grown up"
"I know! She's smoking!" Troy exclaimed earning both a glare from mom and I.
"She's mine, back off!" I punched his arm as he smirked at me.
"We'll see about that, she has a mind of her own you know"
"I swear if you-"
"Boys! Knock it off!" Mom used her signature attack face shutting both of us up. It was soon replaced with a small smile as my phone lit up again, another picture. This one a random guy I've never seen before was holding her while she nervously smiled looking up at him. "Who's that?"
"I-I don't know, I've never seen him before" I stared at the picture, the way he was smiling at her made me feel a tinge of jealousy.
Mom grabbed my phone with a smile browsing through all the pictures of Lexie. I didn't mind her taking my phone, I had nothing to hide. She stopped on one of Lexie and Kara posing together holding up peace signs using the ocean as their background. Mom glanced at me wanting an answer, "That's Kara, Lexie's best friend and her brothers girlfriend"
"She's beautiful too, leave it to you to find these girls" she chuckled. "Doesn't that bother her though? I mean if uncle Charles was dating my best friend I'd ring his neck"
I laughed shrugging, "I don't know, Lexie doesn't really talk about her feelings but from the looks of it she wants them to be happy"
Mom nodded, deciding not to pry more into Lexie's personal life. She swiped through more pictures the smile on her face growing at each one. "And who is that?" she stopped on a picture of Garrett carrying Lexie bridal style out from the ocean.
"Garrett, he's a good friend of hers too. We already don't get along so I'm curious to see how he's going to react"
"What do you mean Justin?"
"He gave me the whole stay away from her speech one night when she was changing, I don't like him mom. He's got her completely fooled"
"Well you don't know that yet honey, if Lexie likes him you better respect him"
"Oh I will but if he hurts her, he's dead"
"Be careful Justin, you only have one shot with her and if you screw it up you'll regret this"
"I know, I know" I sighed pulling out my headphones. This flight was going to take forever. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could fast forward time to the place you want to be in?
