Chapter Forty Two

Lexie's P.O.V.

Two days after my parents took off to the practice race track and I still hadn't heard anything. Justin and I developed a little routine, he would stay the night with me and go out with his family during the day so they could make the most out of their last weeks here.

I was mainly occupied with the company. Taking phone calls, making appointments, collecting rent, and servicing houses that needed repair. This was really not my thing but our clients were very fond of me so it made it bearable.

Once I closed down the company for the day I'd make Justin and I dinner then we would chill on the couch watching television. At times it felt like we were married and I would chuckle at the thought. We were practically living together already and this was sort of a practice run of how we would be.

Now on night three we were sitting at the dining table eating the macaroni and cheese Justin insisted I make. When we were silent it wasn't awkward but we learned to be comfortable with each other in the quiet.

"Love?" Justin spoke up lifting his gaze to mine. "How are we going to get you out there?"

"Oh goodness, I don't know" I sighed, I knew this conversation was coming. "The hardest part is going to be sneaking away"

"Well I have one idea" he said which made me focus in on him. "I'll fly back with dad and mom on Thursday then after a couple of days I'll drive my truck out here. Might take me a while but I think that is the only solution right now"

"You would honestly drive all that way just so I could be there with you?"

"Love it's only a week to get back out here, that's nothing compared to you living with me"

"And we will live with your parents?"

"Yeah unless you don't want to, we could move out"

"No no that's fine, I'm just trying to figure out how to hide this" He nodded glancing around him letting me know the wheels in his head were turning. "When do you think you'll be back?"

"I'm not sure love"

"Bradley has meeting thing he has to go to in three weeks. I'm probably not going to go so I will be here by myself"

Justin grabbed my hand softly running his thumb across the back of it. "Well if we leave Thursday morning, get home sometime Friday morning. I can leave Sunday then maybe be back here the following Friday"

"Wait what if you just left a couple Mondays from now so when you get here they will already be gone?"

"Okay" he said bringing his eyes up to meet mine. "Are you sure you are okay with this?"

"Yes baby"

"Do you think it will work?"

"It has to" I locked our fingers together as I felt him give my hand a quick squeeze.

He nodded helping me clear up the table. I would just do the dishes later, I was way too tired from today. Justin dragged me into the living room plopping on the couch as he turned on our new favorite show, Americas got talent.

It was so much fun watching it with him. He would tell me his opinion of the performance like he was one of the judges and the times we would disagree we would playfully argue on why they should go through. We never actually voted for the acts though so it was no help.

Justin reclined on the couch opening up his arms to me as I snuggled up next to him. I honestly wished my parents were accepting of our relationship. It made no sense to me why Bradley's was fine but mine wasn't. When I moved I wonder if my parents would even look for me.
