Chapter Forty Five

Lexie's P.O.V.

One week until Garrett's play, all of us were so excited. We were going to do our best to make sure he won, after all the work he put into it he deserved it. Today everyone was coming over here to rehearse.

Justin and I decided to keep our distance while my parents were around. I was sad he wasn't here but only a few weeks and I'd never have to worry about them again. It was a tough decision but Kara's words always repeated in my head, "he makes you happy. Do something that makes you happy for once"

I ran down the stairs hearing dad and mom working, thank goodness I didn't have to do that anymore. Bradley was on his computer playing some tank games while he waited for Kara. He gave me a smile as I headed into the kitchen.

After that one day he took me to Justin's we were the best of buds. He would actually give me advice on my relationship and then when he caught Justin and I making out he thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world.

Dad and mom weren't too impressed though but right now I could care less. In two weeks I would be living with the guy I fell in love with. I felt bad keeping it a secret from Bradley but he would for sure tell my parents. Then they would probably lock me in my room.

The door bell rang as I walked out of the kitchen to answer it. Today I was just in a good mood. The weather was beautiful, I was in love, and we were rehearsing for the thing I enjoyed the most.

Opening the door I saw Jasmine standing at the steps with tear stains on her cheeks.

"Hi Lexie, can I talk to you?"

"Jasmine, yes of course. Come in" I smiled pulling her into a hug. Dragging her up to my room she sighed plopping down on my bed. "What's the matter?"

"I made a huge mistake" she said before a tear trickled down her face. "I broke up with Troy"

"What?" I gasped genuinely shocked, they looked so happy together. "Why?"

"We were on a date and well my ex-boyfriend showed up. We got to talking and I ditched Troy. Lexie I'm sure you remember him, you two met at Noah's race one year"

"Milton?"

"Yeah that's him" she sighed again as I handed her a tissue to wipe her eyes. "He was your typical jock, not the smartest, had the looks, but he definitely had some issues to work on. We spent the night together just hanging out and I honestly saw a different side to him so when Troy called me the next morning I broke up with him"

Jasmine sobbed as I continued listening. "I made a huge mistake doing that, turns out Milton is exactly how he was when we were together. I thought he changed Lexie I really did but he hasn't, and now I just realized I broke the heart of a man I truly love. I don't know what I was thinking letting him go but I'll do anything to get him back"

I nodded seeing the painful expression on her face, time to play couples therapist. "Come on" she let me grab her hand pulling her out of my room. "Bradley! I'm going to Justin's for a second, tell Garrett I'll be back soon"

"Okay" he yelled back as I took off out the front door to Justin's house. If the way they felt about each other was anything like we did, this was going to be a piece of cake.

I wiped Jasmine's face making sure to get rid of all the tear stains, if she was anything like me she was embarrassed for people to see her cry. She quickly pulled me into a hug as I stood there for support. I gave her a nod and knocked on the door before she could back out.

Michael opened up with a huge smiled across his face, I still had no clue why this family was always happy but I was sure I'd find out. "Well there's our two beautiful girls" He welcomed us in gathering us up in a hug as I returned it. Michael was slowly becoming like a father to me.
