Chapter Forty Four
Justin's P.O.V.
I'll be the first to admit I screwed up bad, should I have read Lexie's journal? No. Again we were going to have rough times but it shouldn't have been because of me. After she kicked me out last night I heard her crying.
Then I heard her call Kara and tell her everything. I couldn't make out a lot except for her cries and sobs. It was wrong of me to read that since it was her private journal but I honestly don't regret it.
I read exactly what she was going through, what she was trying so hard to move past. Sadly, there was nothing I could do to help her, she had already been on medication, already visited a therapist, I could do nothing.
Trudging into the kitchen I saw Troy's blank face staring at the wall. Man, Jasmine did something to him, "You want to talk about it?" I asked pulling out the chair in front of him.
Troy shook his head taking a sip of the coffee. Well if I knew my brother well enough he would talk about it when he was ready. He sighed as I placed my hand on his shoulder as he returned my gesture with a small smile.
He was hurting bad, if it was anything like the break ups I went through he had a right to be. I stared out the window watching the wind slightly blow. "Her ex-boyfriend came back" Troy spoke up while I focused on him. "We were out on a date when I spun around to see some guy talking to her. My first instinct was to just run over there so I did. Next thing I know she's gone"
"She just left you?"
"Yeah" he nodded, "I called her the next day to see if she was alright and she broke up with me for him"
I got up to hug him, seeing that look on his face I knew he was miserable. I honestly felt like going over and beating up the jerk that stole her away from him. He sighed returning my hug. "Bloody hell Justin I loved her"
"I know" and he truly meant it, if Troy ever said he loved something he would honestly do anything for them. He was in the Air Force if that didn't prove anything.
First girl he dates when he comes back and she does this to him. Well girls are full of surprises, guess they can play games with your heart as well. I pulled away slapping his shoulder. "Please don't tell Lexie" he said as I looked at him, "I don't want her to think its her fault, she was just trying to help" I nodded confirming I would keep it to myself unless she asked. "Speaking of which where is she?"
"She's at home" I took a sip of my coffee trying my hardest not to get upset.
"Why?"
"Listen Troy you just need to worry about what you're dealing with, the last thing you need is my problems"
"Oh come on, I need to focus on something else. What did you do this time little bro?"
I sighed leaning back on my chair, well this was something I never imagined my brother and I doing. "I kind of sort of read her diary"
Troy chuckled like he knew I was dead, "Well you know roses and chocolate won't cover that one"
"Yeah I know, I was planning on heading over there to apologize but I'm lost on what to say"
"I've got nothing for you bro, that's never happened to me before. She'll forgive you though"
My gaze whipped up to see him now leaning back in his chair with his hands behind his head, we both knew I was screwed. "What makes you think that? I've done so many things to her I'm surprised she's still with me"
"Let's just say I want a girl to look at me the same way Lexie looks at you" he smirked acting like I was missing the big picture. "Oh come on Justin you can't tell me you don't know the way she looks at you. Do you see that?" I nodded recalling the countless moments she would smile up at me. "Man, she looks at you like you are her hero. I want that"
