Chapter Fifty Five
Lexie's P.O.V.
Laying in bed I couldn't get these nagging thoughts out of my head. When was his dad going to be here? How long would we wait until we left? Should I start putting things away now or when he actually got here?
I knew I wanted to say goodbye to my parents and Bradley in some way but when? And how? If Marilyn wasn't awake was I going to risk it and take off? Now that Garrett was focused on getting to know Lisa he wasn't as bad but still Marilyn was my friend.
Tears began streaming down my face the more I got lost in my thoughts, how were we going to do this? It was actually happening now, it wasn't an idea anymore. I couldn't back out though, my Justin meant too much to me for that to happen. Once we got going I'd be alright, knowing nothing could stop us.
I had so many things to bring and when was I going to pack those up? Already I made a small suitcase of clothes that I hid in my closet. I'd leave my old phone here maybe make them think I ran away.
I wiped the water under my eyes using the sheet, I had to stop crying so much. My life was so utterly crazy right now. The only thing that kept me going was knowing I would be with Justin in a bit, just me and him with his wonderful family.
My door swung open to reveal mom smiling at me, oh I forgot my first day of work. "Lexie, it's-" she paused stepping all the way into my room. "Sweetie what's the matter?"
I shook my head into the pillow trying anything to make me stop crying. Today I was being trained as a complete employee for Sanders Beach Realty. "You're still sad over Marilyn aren't you?" Mom asked dipping down on the mattress.
Nodding she began rubbing circles across my back, what was wrong with my family! "She's going to be okay, she can do this"
"I know" sitting up I ran my hand through my very tangled hair.
"Listen, you're not going to be able to work with that on your mind so you can start another day. I'm fine if you decide to go to the hospital again"
"Are you sure?" I asked as mom pulled me into her side.
"Yes sweetie, you have plenty of time to be trained" she smiled, okay so they had no clue what I was planning on doing.
"Thank you" I whispered feeling her plant a kiss on my forehead. With a quick pat to my back she stood back up as I grabbed my clothes for the day. Seriously, what happened to my family?
Kara pulled up to the driveway honking her horn as I grabbed my phone and ran down the stairs. Thankfully she was able to pick me up and drive me to the hospital. I called Justin but he didn't answer so maybe he was out with his grandpa.
I slid into the car watching Kara's face light up, she knew it. She knew how much I loved him and how he would do anything for me. Without a word she pulled out as we listened to the radio playing through the speakers.
She parked before we headed into the hospital. I decided today I was going to say goodbye to them even if we weren't leaving just yet. Walking up the room we heard Garrett's laugh again, this girl was doing something to him.
Kara and I waltzed in there to see Marilyn sitting up talking with Garrett. "Marilyn!" I squealed running over to her. She giggled opening up her arms to give me a hug. "How are you feeling?"
"Fine, just a bit tired and hungry" she smiled as Kara screamed pulling her into a hug.
"Oh my goodness you're up!"
"Love bug I'm aware of that" she laughed causing all of us to chuckle. Marilyn was awake! Finally after three weeks of this. "You're still here?"
"Yes I'm still here, am I missing something?" I asked watching Marilyn's face lit up.
