Chapter Thirty Six

Lexie's P.O.V.

I groaned opening my eyes to the sunlight of the morning. This was not a day to be messing with me. Last night dad and I got into yet another argument about my relationship. His new thing was picking on Justin's career, that because he purposely hurt those people he could hurt me.

As always Justin stayed up late texting me about it. So badly he wanted to come take me home with him but running away wouldn't solve anything. It took a lot of convincing but I eventually got him to realize that.

Thankfully today I had plans to be away from my family. Garrett and I were going to rehearse for this play he had wrote. I was super excited for this one, an evil queen against the good king. He had put a lot of thought into this one, hopefully he would win the contest.

He had given me the star role being the evil queen. Kara was to play my sister that could only do good. Garrett, he would play the king and his girlfriend Jamie, she was playing one of his counselors. I seriously did not know how he came up with this one but Garrett had one heck of an imagination.

Rolling over I looked at the time to see I had a couple of hours before Kara picked me up. We were going to meet up at his house to memorize our lines and figure out the exact plot of the play. Even though I was in a horrible mood I was excited to rehearse.

Walking into Garrett's house I heard the giggling of girls, sometimes I wondered about him hanging around us so much but I figured we would know that by now. When I headed into the living room I saw Garrett with a panic stricken look on his face as he hugged Marilyn who couldn't stop crying.

"Hey guys what's wrong?" I spoke up to see them both look at me.

"Oh Lexie!" Marilyn cried running over to me as she quickly wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Marilyn, what is it love bug?"

"She had a dream that you died last night" Garrett walked over to us but I noticed his mood was off as well. "She's been like this all day, good thing you showed up"

Something wasn't right here, "Garrett I know you, what's really going on?"

He sighed gently prying Marilyn off me as Kara took her in the kitchen to get water. "I can't tell you"

"You can tell me anything and you know that"

"Not this Lexie, I can't tell you this" lifting his eyes to meet mine I saw they shone with unshed tears. This had to be something serious if it was making Garrett cry. Quickly I pulled him into a hug as he returned my embrace. "I love you, don't you forget that"

"I love you too but what is going on Garrett?"

"You'll find out, come on let's rehearse"

Four hours later we were laughing like crazy, I was having the most trouble with this part. Me and being evil just didn't go well with each other. I had to admit it was fun acting that way though. I'd get half way through my script and bust up laughing since I couldn't stay serious the whole time.

Jamie was having the most fun playing the kings counselor. She loved the fact she could mess with Garrett's head as he laid down his issues being king. Jamie was interesting to say the least, I still really don't know how her and Garrett got along so well but they were happy.

I felt my phone buzz alerting me I had a text message, pulling it out I saw Justin's name on the screen. "Be ready at 7 love"

Be ready at seven? What in the world did he have planned? I smiled replying with an okay and a heart, now I was excited for tonight. Justin and I hadn't even been on an official date, we just hung out all the time together.
