Chapter Twenty Nine
Justin's P.O.V.
After dinner Lexie quickly changed into her modeling outfit, she still had a few minutes before she had to meet up with Noah and take Bradley to his spot. We were sitting there relaxing along with Garrett, a guy I had learned to like. She was ready for this week to be over I could just tell by the look on her face. Her family being so inconsiderate towards her probably didn't help.
Now I understood it, she liked it at home because she could hide in her room. She didn't have to deal with their nonsense in her own space. With her music blasting she blocked out everything, it was her escape.
I don't know how anyone could deal with that and not think of running away or wanting to end it all. It made sense why she did what she did, I would have done the same exact thing. No one wanted to feel unloved and abandoned by the people they trusted most, the ones they loved.
Lexie took a deep breath leaning up against me and I could feel she was anxious. She smiled as I kissed the side of her head, nothing could describe what this girl did to me. Her phone buzzed for what seemed like the hundredth time and it didn't take much figuring to realize it was Noah.
"I'm going to kill this boy" she sighed grabbing my hand in hers. I noticed she liked playing with my fingers when she got impatient or nervous. I chuckled letting her drape my arm over her shoulder. Just then Bradley walked in, "Oh thank goodness you are here, come on let's go"
"Wait a second, I have to do something's" he whined as she got up to pull him out of the rv.
"Really Bradley? You need to be ready, we have to go"
"What are you complaining about? The longer I take the more time you get to spend with him, might want to take advantage of that since he's not going to be around much longer"
Lexie clenched her fists as her eyes darkened over, she was just as defensive over me as I was of her. "We will discuss this later, got it?"
He rolled his eyes grabbing a bag of his gear. She tried getting him to move faster but it was no use. Gently she kissed my lips as she headed outside to wait for him. There was a thump sound as she leaned up against the rv, just waiting.
Bradley continued grumbling throwing the bag over his shoulder to meet Lexie outside. "You should be happy I'm not saying anything" he said as he stepped out of the rv.
"What is your problem?" she shot back, clearly fired up with her brothers attitude. "Why can't you except the fact I'm actually happy?"
"You don't deserve to be happy!" He yelled and it took everything in me not to run out there and beat him senseless. "Not after the hell you put us through!"
"You thought that was all for attention?" her voice was so small and weak and I knew she was tearing up.
"Lexie come back here, don't be like that" he sighed as we heard him trudge off to wherever he had to go.
I didn't take much for me to follow after her. I had no idea where she was or what direction she was going in. I just had to find her, no matter what. She had to be taken out of this house, away from her parents and away from her brother.
Every direction I looked but didn't find her anywhere. Soon enough I began asking the people there if they saw a brunette girl in a black dress. Thankfully some did, last they saw her she was walking towards the practice track.
Garrett had started searching too, he knew whenever Lexie ran off like that it hurt her bad. He went the opposite way I did hoping he could find her. He kept texting me what he found or where he thought she might be but as soon as I looked up I saw her.
