Chapter Seven
Justin's P.O.V.
"Good morning son" dad greeted me as I walked through the living room into the kitchen. Our house wasn't too big but wasn't extremely small. When we first moved here to Oklahoma we bought a four bedroom, two bathroom house on two acres of land. This was the home I grew up in and could probably walk through it with my eyes closed.
"Good morning dad" I replied taking a seat next to him at the kitchen table. He poured me a cup of coffee as we started our daily routine. I was so grateful to have a close relationship with my parents, they loved me unconditionally and supported me through everything.
"Have a bad night?" he peered through his glasses and over his newspaper. Dad was older then most men with two adult sons, from what I heard mom had difficulty getting pregnant at first.
"No, just stayed up late talking to Lexie" I smiled seeing the suspicion come to his eyes. I knew it, he knew it, and mom definitely knew it.
"Wow, she must be pretty special for you to be losing sleep over" dad chuckled setting down his newspaper to give me his undivided attention. Okay I admit it, I'm spoiled.
"Yeah she is" I laughed. If it was one thing I loved it was sleep. Lexie was two hours behind me so when it got late for her it was extremely late for me. I didn't mind though, I fell asleep in a good mood.
Mom came stumbling into the kitchen, bright as ever. I could never figure out how she was so cheery in the morning. "Well hello there my two men" she smiled grabbing herself a cup of coffee.
It made me laugh hearing her say that, reminded me of Lexie and her poor attempt at flirting. It was obvious she didn't date or go out much but she tried. I loved how innocent she was, even her flirting was horrible. Crap, I loved this girl.
"Have you told her yet Justin?" Mom carefully eyed me knowing exactly what I was thinking. How did mothers know everything?
"No" I shook my head sighing, "I'm going to though I promise" mom was right, I had been talking to Lexie everyday for two months she had a right to know.
"You better son, you have a fight out there when we visit" dad spoke up, his tone stern. Dad meant business, I nodded hoping she would react to this news well.
When most girls found out they freaked, I never understood why. Maybe it was because they weren't the right girl for me. At this point in my life I was ready to find the right one and get married, kind of soon but it's what I wanted.
"Okay since I have the courage I'm going to go call her" I stood up feeling confident about revealing my secret to her. She might even want to see me fight, no that would be pushing it.
Mom grabbed my arm before I completely walked out. "I wouldn't call her now, its like six in the morning over there"
I glanced up at the clock seeing she was right it was only 8:22 am. "Oh yeah, well I'll go train for a bit then"
They nodded and I saw them glance at each other with a knowing look. I chuckled to myself, no point in denying it anymore. Maybe I'd send her some flowers just for the heck of it, she's had a rough week.
Browsing the website of the florist closest to her I had no idea what her favorite flower was or if she even had one. She must have loved a certain one, all girls did. I wanted to put some thought in it but I was so out of place looking at all the different kinds.
Finally I just picked out blue hydrangeas, white daisies, and a small thing called babies breath. What kind of name was that for a flower? I purchased the flowers and got an email saying they would arrive around noon time.
