Chapter Thirty Two
Lexie's P.O.V.
Justin and I had spent the whole morning together. He called me at seven in the morning to come over, as much as I loved my sleep I probably couldn't say no to him. So when I was ready and started the walk to his house he was there waiting for me.
The summer mornings were beautiful, you could tell today was going to be extremely warm but the light breeze would make it bearable. I knew Justin was nervous about tonight, he just kept talking about the weirdest things.
Now after we made everyone breakfast we sat around the table just casually chatting. His parents seemed genuinely interested in what Justin and Troy were saying. Nathan had crawled onto my lap still trying to wake up. When I was around he always stuck by my side, he was cute though.
Justin had his arm draped around my shoulders as we both sipped on the coffee Rose had made. She was an amazing cook, probably could make anything. The look of appreciation on their faces when they woke up to breakfast was something I hadn't seen in a long time.
They thanked us many times for something as simple as cooking a meal. No wonder Justin adored them, they made him feel important. They were talking about his fight later tonight and they were seriously paying every ounce of attention to him.
I just listened hearing how excited he was and how proud they were of him for making his career. Even Troy was interested in Justin's fighting career. If I was right Troy wasn't there for any of this so it was going to be his first time seeing his little brother fight.
To be honest I was super excited but really nervous at the same time. I had no idea what to expect from this. All I knew was he was fighting, it was a two hour drive, and he had put security on me. Other than that I was completely lost, hopefully he'd fill me in on the way there.
It was a rule that he couldn't drive to or from the fight in case he got injured so Garrett was driving us down there. We were supposed to leave at five so he would be there in time for his fight at eight.
"Lexie, honey?" I looked up to see Rose smiling at me. She chuckled pushing the hair out of her face. "Are you finished?"
"Oh yeah I am, thanks" I smiled as she took the plate from me. "Sorry"
"Don't be sorry dear, it looked like you were deep in thinking there"
I chuckled looking over to see Justin's horror stricken face staring at me. Well that was new I've never seen that expression before. He leaned over to whisper to me, "You okay love? What were you thinking about?"
"Yes babe I'm fine, I just hope Garrett gets you there on time" He nodded planting a kiss on my cheek as Nathan headed out with Troy to get cleaned up. As we stood up I squealed feeling Justin pick me up bridal style. "What are you doing?" I giggled wrapping my arms around his neck.
"I think it's time you had a date with me and the hammock" he chuckled carrying me past the kitchen, through the garage, and finally out in the backyard.
I looked around seeing this place for the first time. He always came to my house I never went to his. It wasn't a huge space but average for a home. His grandpa had set up a small patio area along with a barbecue. Then a garden off to the side with a seat swing next to it. Finally the hammock under a tree where Justin let me roll on to it.
He scooted next to me wrapping his arm underneath me to keep us close. I rested my head against his chest hearing his heartbeat. I still had no clue why it relaxed me, it just did. "I think I could stay like this all day" he laughed start a small motion that kept us swinging in it.
