Chapter Fifty Four
Justin's P.O.V.
It was honestly the most humiliating thing getting yelled at by your girlfriend. I felt like a puppy that just peed on the carpet, she was mad. Never in our relationship had Lexie been this upset, sure she got close when I read her journal but she was more sad than anything.
For forty five minutes she screamed as I sat on the edge of the bed watching her. She was honestly cute when she was angry but that would only make her more upset so I kept my mouth shut. After her little rant she quickly kissed my cheek as she bolted out the door.
Now it was morning and I had heard nothing from her. I figured she was either still sleeping or at the hospital again. Marilyn had to wake up in the next few days. As much as I would hate to do it, we were leaving whether she was better or not. I had to get us back home.
Swinging by legs off the bed I walked into the living room seeing grandpa laying on the couch. "Grandpa are you okay?"
"Oh yes I'm fine" he answered with his eyes still closed, something wasn't right.
"Are you sure? Do you need something?"
"No I'm fine Justin" he snapped as I backed off. Okay something was definitely wrong, maybe he was just having one of his bad days, missing grandma.
Pouring myself and him some coffee I headed back into the living room handing him the mug. He took it still laying down, this didn't look good at all. I sighed plopping myself down on the chair while we waited for the sun to come up.
We really had no plans today, I'm not sure what was going on. If I should go to the hospital with Lexie or give her some space. We were doing so well and now another bump. Most of it was my fault threatening Neil like that but he was after my love.
There was no way I was letting him get away with that. This guy thinks I'm dumb enough to let him continue acting that way, he might want to think again. Any guy would destroy anything that was in the way of what they wanted, even him.
Maybe I should train for a bit, that usually helps my thoughts. Walking back into the room I changed into my tank top, shorts, and running shoes before I took off out the door. Everyone seemed to be in a mood today.
Planning my route I decided to run past Lexie's house to see if I could notice anything. It actually felt really nice outside, maybe sixty degrees but compared to negative two this was summer. Jogging through the neighbor I started comparing home to here.
Houses were stacked on top of each other but at home we were on a few acres of land. The closest neighbors was maybe a mile away, here it was maybe five hundred feet away. I really think Lexie is going to like Oklahoma, yeah she'll freeze like crazy but it was beautiful out there.
Green landscape that stretched for miles, and then she is going to love the snow. As far as I can remember it never snowed in California. It would be nice for Lexie to have a white Christmas for once. I was honestly excited for the holidays with her.
Thanksgiving, where all the family gets together. Christmas that we get to have together. I was very happy she was still standing by her decision to move in with me. Mom was probably the most excited, her and Jasmine had completely redone my room for us.
Now my room was teal with a gray bed spread and oak furniture. Jasmine had gone out and bought her all kinds of clothes to keep her warm. Smiling like an idiot about my gorgeous girlfriend I continued the path running.
Coming down the street I saw her driveway all lined up with their cars. Her dads red mustang, moms white Camry, brothers silver truck, and then the trailer. I was really curious why she wasn't driving, she never told me about that. It looked like everything was still closed up.
