Chapter Twenty
Justin's P.O.V.
I stared at my screen in shock, a little message from Lexie popped up with I was playing FarmVille. Geeky I know but it was a fun game. I read the sentence over and over again, 'I want to make things official'
What did she mean official? Like exclusive dating or putting a label on it? We just got into an argument yesterday and she sent me a message like that. I couldn't stop my mind from wandering to what she could have possibly meant.
I had to know and quickly, reaching for my phone I went as fast as I could finding her number and then calling it. It seemed like forever until she finally picked up, "Hello?"
"Hi love it's Justin, I just uh-"
"Hey I've been waiting for you to call" she chuckled and I could just see that smile on her face. "It's about the message isn't it?"
"Yeah I just got it, are you saying the same thing I'm thinking?"
She laughed, "Depends on what you are thinking"
This conversation was not to be had over the phone. "I'm coming over, I'll be there in five"
"Justin, your family is going to be here in a few hours for dinner. We-"
"I'll be there in five" I said and hung up the phone before she could protest against it. She was a stubborn little thing.
Tying up my shoes I ran out the door towards her house. I couldn't begin to imagine what else this could possibly be. What changed her mind? She was so hesitant about this idea when I asked her and now she wanted to make it official.
I saw her standing out in the driveway of her house, a small smile on her face as she tapped away at her phone. She shook her head laughing sliding it back into her pocket. I watched as she glanced up at the blue sky just taking it all in.
She always did love the simple things, her eyes sparkled with excitement and wonder while she gazed up towards the mountains and the sky surrounding it. Dark clouds were looming above but that didn't seem to phase her, she looked peaceful standing out here.
This girl was giving me tons of reasons to fall in love with her, even when she didn't know it. Her eyes caught mine as her lips twitched into a full smile, lets see if she was thinking the same thing I was.

Lexie's P.O.V.
I watched the clouds blow to the east, there was a summer storm coming I could feel it. The dark clouds above the mountains, the light warm breeze, and the smell of rain floating around. That's the only bad thing about summer, humidity.
Justin was walking towards me, I smiled seeing him get closer with an unreadable expression on his face. I couldn't begin to imagine what was going through his head. I meant what I said and I was determined to make it happen.
"Hey, mom invited Garrett's family over for dinner. Is that okay?" I asked wrapping my arms around him as I looked up watching his face.
He nodded smiling, "So about your message?"
I chuckled, he was getting right to the point. "Come on" grabbing his hand I pulled him to sit under the tree with me. He plopped down next to me, I could feel the nervousness off him. Might as well end this torture he was dealing with. "I think we should be a couple"
His gaze whipped up to mine, surprise written all over his face. "Like boyfriend, girlfriend couple?" I nodded, smiling like crazy.
"So, what do you say?" I bit my lip feeling nervous. It was his idea to start the whole dating thing in the first place, maybe he didn't want for it just to be us.
"I think it's a wonderful idea" he flashed his perfect smile at me, making me smile even bigger.
"Great! So it's-" I was cut off by his lips pressing against mine. Silently laughing he rolled me on his stomach as we both laid down. My cheeks heated up as I pulled away, it was hard to control.
"You blush so easily" he laughed cupping my cheeks in his hands.
"Well it's hard not to when I'm laying on an incredibly hot guy"
"Incredibly hot boyfriend love"
I rolled my eyes laughing, that wasn't a conceited comment at all. Leaning down I kissed him again, who would have thought that? My best friend from third grade was now my boyfriend. Pulling away he had a goofy grin looking up at me. It made me smile knowing I was the one who did that.
"Lexie! Come get ready for dinner!" mom yelled out the window as I nodded.
Justin helped me up as we walked hand in hand down the steps into the house. "I think it's time you formally met my family"
