Chapter Fifty Six
Justin's P.O.V.
Most of my things were already packed for our week long drive, dad already had his ticket in hand to board the plane. Today the plan was to drive him to the airport and find some day to get Lexie out of there.
This was going to be the most difficult thing I had ever done, we didn't even know when or how yet. We couldn't just sneak her out at night since we had to get all her things or when her parents were working, all of them had to be gone.
I was ready whenever I heard anything from her but today she was supposed to be working, she said that even though Marilyn was still in the hospital her parents made her work. At least this would only be for a few days.
Walking out to the living room dad sat on the recliner while grandpa laid on the couch. Grandpa still did not look good and it was really starting to worry me. I'm still surprised that mom wasn't taking in Nathan seeing how weak grandpa was getting.
I sighed plopping down next to dad playing with my phone, now I was getting really nervous. I really wanted to see Lexie since she seemed to be the only thing that made everything okay but we decided to stay apart for a bit.
It had been less than twelve hours but I missed her. Unlocking my phone I quickly shot her a text. "Good morning my love, what time to you get off work?"
She responded within a minute. "Morning baby <3 I get off at 4, why what's up?"
"I miss you"
"Awwww I miss you too but we agreed to keep our distance"
"I know love"
"Listen I gtg dads calling me, love you honey :)"
My Lexie was always busy, with an I love you I sent her the text placing my phone back in my pocket. Well she seemed to be in a good mood today. I thought for sure she'd be freaking out but it looked like now things were actually happening she was okay.
Me on the other hand I was freaking out playing out each scenario in my head. If we got caught I don't know what we would do. Her dad would physically kill me and possibly her. Now he decided to show Lexie how much he loved her.
As much as I wanted her to be happy I just couldn't let him take her away from me. I worked so hard getting her to trust me and as soon as I leave he takes the opportunity to be the doting father. I sighed, why did this have to be so complicated?
"Justin, it'll be okay" dad spoke up as my gaze went towards him. How did he knew what I was thinking? I nodded leaning back on the couch. "Quit worrying"
"I'm scared" I said running a hand through my hair, I wanted the best for Lexie and I still wasn't sure this was right.
"Yeah I know, I was too"
"Dad, what if it's not right? What if she's not supposed to leave her family?"
Dad patted my shoulder in an attempt of comfort. "She knows what she's doing believe it or not. Girls have this crazy instinct of knowing you better than you think. You'd be surprised how much she pays attention to you. She knows though, she truly believes in your relationship. Justin I'm sure she knew when you first started talking that you were the one"
"I feel guilty taking her away not just from her family but her friends"
"You will for a bit especially when she's crying but trust me she's not completely insane for doing this. Quit worrying"
I nodded pulling my phone back out to check my messages, sadly nothing from Lexie. She probably left her phone in her room since she was working, now my girlfriend was a working girl. Too bad it was only for a few days.
A few hours had come and gone as the four of us guys sat around just talking about whatever. Grandpa and dad both gave me advice on my relationship, which was helpful but all of us and our girls were different.
Dad told me of when he took mom away and grandpa talked about his first years with grandma. Honestly the looks on their faces were incredible to watch, if Lexie didn't believe guys fell in love she should see this.
So maybe winter time wasn't the best to be traveling, this airport was insane! I was so glad I was able to drive my truck now. Sure it was beat up and could use a few upgrades but it was my first car so I was attached to it.
Finally pulling into a parking space dad and I walked out in the California wind which was actually really nice. Now that was one thing I was going to miss. Dad tugged his luggage along side of him as he checked in with the plane ticket.
Well this was a switch, I was saying goodbye to my dad who was going back home. Dad pulled me into a hug before we heard the announcement go off. "You're going to be fine" he said and I'm pretty sure everyone say that look of stress on my face.
I nodded handing him some more money for the flight, who knows what they charge for nowadays. "Thank you"
"You're welcome" he smiled patting my shoulder. "Don't give up on her, trust me Justin she's worth it"
"I know" pulling him back into another hug he chuckled. "I love you"
"I love you too" with that he headed off up the stairs to wait for his flight. I sighed spinning around to head back out to try to figure out how we were going to get my Lexie home, our home.

Lexie's P.O.V.
After six long hours of being trained even more than I already was I was finally able to get off. Spending that much time with my parents required alone time so I bolted up to my room. I wasn't sure when but I knew that as soon as we got the opportunity we were gone.
Thankfully I had some suitcases I could use to stuff my things in there so I began packing. It really was sad I was leaving all this behind but Justin was a new chapter in my life. I starting folding up my clothes that I didn't wear that much as I put on some music.
This was the only way I could keep going without bursting into tears, if dad or mom found me crying they would know something was up. So I decided just to dance which made everything feel like I had it under control.
I heard a light tapping at my window like something was being thrown at it, maybe it was just the wind so I spun around folding all my clothes up. Then I heard it again so this time I walked over to it and sure enough Justin was standing right at the bottom.
Opening up the window I couldn't keep the smile off my face, "What do you think you are doing?" I whisper yelled at him but being so far away he didn't understand a thing I was saying.
A smile from him was his response so I chuckled closing up my window as I ran down the stairs and headed out to the back yard. Thankfully dad and mom were too absorbed in their work to notice what I was doing.
Justin didn't waste the opportunity to run up to me but before he could do anything I grabbed his hips pushing him against the wall, no one could see him. He chuckled cupping my face in his hands when he brushed his lips against mine.
Now I knew guys did fall in love. "What are you doing here?" I whispered to him while we both kept a look out.
"I wanted to see you"
Brushing my nose against his I smiled. "I love you too"
"I dropped dad off at the airport". His arms wrapped around my waist pulling me even closer to him as I nodded. "Just tell me when I'll be ready"
"I don't know when babe"
"I know love" he sighed again cupping my face in his hands. "I'll do anything for us to be together" gently pressing his lips against mine I smiled.
"You already have" Justin smiled locking our lips together again, my goodness he was kissing me a lot. "You better go though"
He smiled pecking my nose as he pulled me in for another hug and hopped the fence, he would sneak into my house just to see me. I chuckled heading back up stairs to see him walking back to his grandpas house.
Continuing to pack my things I smiled at the wonderful man going down the street willing to do anything to make me happy. I knew one thing, as soon as this house was cleared I was gone, for good.
