Chapter Twenty One

Lexie's P.O.V.

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I wasn't sure how well dad and mom would take to Justin and I being an official couple. Dad did catch us trying to sneak him out of my room but I was really hoping that conversation we had yesterday stuck.

I squeezed Justin's hand as I called for them. None of them responded so I sighed hearing dad and Bradley in the living room playing the Xbox as mom prepared dinner. We walked into the living room seeing them completely focused on their game.

"Dad, can I talk to you for a second?" I asked trying to get his attention.

"Yeah, yeah hang on we are in the middle of a game" he replied and I knew exactly what that meant. Don't disturb them while they are playing games which was all the time.

I sighed rolling my eyes pulling Justin into the kitchen, maybe mom would listen. "Lexie sweetie, we only have an hour until dinner go get ready" she waved me off. No one was going to listen, so Justin followed me up to my room.

He pulled out his phone as I went to the bathroom grabbing my curling iron. Dad had given me a huge mirror so I could get ready in my room. Justin smiled while I walked back in, I couldn't help but kiss him again. He was like a drug, I couldn't get enough of it.

It amazed me how comfortable I felt with him, the only other guy I did this with was Garrett and we were just friends. He flashed that perfectly white smile at me while I plopped on the floor to get ready for dinner. He made his way over to me taking a seat on the floor.

He smiled at me through the mirror twirling my hair in his fingers. "How come you dyed your hair love?" he asked looking back at me.

I gave him a perplexed expression, only he would notice something like that. I shrugged, "I wanted a change, my friend bugged me to dye it so I did. Honestly I hate it now, I'd like to go back to my natural color whatever that is"

"You look good no matter what color your hair is" he smiled as I chuckled rolling my eyes, he was such a sweet talker.

My hair was curled and I had put on a little makeup for dinner tonight. Justin was watching me the entire time which weirded me out a bit, I'd never had a guy sit with me while I got ready.

Laughing silently I walked over to my closet picking out my gray sweater dress with a turquoise blazer and my gray sparkle flats. Justin came up behind me wrapping his arms around my waist as I leaned into him, I forgot how much I loved this feeling.

I heard a car door from the driveway as I looked out, Garrett and his family had arrived. Grabbing Justin's hand I pulled him out of my room, down the stairs, through the hall and eventually into the living room where mom was letting them in.

Garrett smiled as he locked eyes on me. I wrapped him up in a hug as everyone said their greetings. "Lexie!" Marilyn smiled as much as she could making her way over to me.

"Marilyn!" I gathered her up in a hug as well. I absolutely adored her, she was a few years younger then Garrett but had Down syndrome. Glancing back at Justin I chuckled seeing how uncomfortable he was. "Hey there's someone I want you to meet" I whispered to her as I called for Kara.

Wrapping my arms around both of their shoulders I led them in front of Justin who kept smiling. "You know how you two are always bothering me about getting a boyfriend?" I whispered seeing both of their eyes light up and nod their heads eagerly. "Well, there he is"

"Are you serious?" Kara squealed pulling me into her. I laughed nodding my head, if my parents wouldn't listen I knew for sure they would.

"Really Lexie? You really mean it?" Marilyn asked as I nodded again. Those two bugged me for years to get a boyfriend. "Oh my gosh!" she shrieked hugging me then tackling Justin in a hug.
