I groaned and turned over in my tiny bed to face Katie's bed. She was still fast asleep. Her large head of curly hair laying comfortably on her small pink pillow. I chuckled. She sleeps funny. I looked at my clock 8:30. My first class at NYU started in two hours. Words of a famous actor rang in my ears. "Everyday has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." I smiled at the words of encouragement.

I looked down at my schedule.

1st Class 10:30- Music Theory

Awesome. I have always loved music. My mom and I used to play piano and sing all the time. I smiled and walked into the large double doors with a sign that said Music Theory.

The room was a pretty decent size. It was quite large with all kinds of instruments and sheet music flung everywhere. I carefully eyed the large black piano in the far corner. I think I might have to play that eventually. Everything was going great. I chose a good seat, had the best teacher, and it turns out I have a lot in common with the teacher. The class was about halfway over when a frazzled blonde boy rushed into the room, his arms laden with random books and papers. I recognized this boy. Hey now! He's the one I ran into when I first got here! He looked up and apologized to the teacher. She nodded and he took a seat near the front. When I met him I would have never guessed he wanted to take a music class. I have to tell Katie about this later. I payed careful attention in class and took beautiful notes. I was almost sad when the class was over.

I ran back to my room after the class was over. I knew Katie didn't have class until 3 and it was only 12 so this would work out very well. I burst in the door after fumbling with the keys for a moment. "KATIE! I MET A BOY!" The larger girl stood from her spot on her bed. She was painting her nails. "WHAT?!" She almost knocked over her bottle of polish. "On your first day?! Charlotte that's amazing! How did you do that?!" She cried. I looked to the side. I shouldn't have said it like that. "Well we didn't really talk today but he was the first person I ever met here. I saw him but I didn't talk to him...today. I talked to him the first day because I ran into him on the street and-" I'm rambling. I took a deep breath in. "The first day I got here I bumped into him at the airport. He said he went here and gave me his number. Then he walked in late to my Music Theory class today." Katie squealed. "Is he cute?" I shut the door aware we were probably disturbing people. I shrugged. She glared at me. "How do you not know?" I shrugged again. "Speak child speak!" I giggled a little but didn't respond. "Charlotte honey talk to me I'm dying over here!" She cried. "Ok ok" I sighed. She clapped her hands. "Let's talk about it over coffee! I have about 3 hours left until my first class and I haven't had my daily dose!"
