I sit in the audience as Addie and her new cast works on their performance.

Addie was nominated for Hamilton, but Cats was also nominated so her friends came with her.

The choreographer yelled something to Addie. She did a crazy flip thing. I don't know what it's called because I'm not a cat but whatever.

Lin said they could practice in our theater.

OUR theater.

Not theirs.

Oh well.

Such is life.

She smiled and finished, walking with her head down off the stage.

She smiles at me.

I smile back.

Because I'm a good person.

She waved at me and walked out with the other people.

I'll be seeing you, Addie Blue.

.......

People cheer as I walk out of a black car, D on my left and Addie on my right.

Her eyes are sad but her face is happy.

.....

The Tonys are almost over.

We have a few for Hamilton.

Cats beat us in one category.

Hehe. CATegory.

The announcer, some guy from a show I've never seen holds a brightly colored envelope.

"And the winner for the Best Single Album is..."

He pauses.

His hands carefully open the envelope.

His eyes widen and his face pales.

Addie squeezes my hand.

"Daveed Diggs."

The entire Hamilton section of the crowd tenses up.

His words echo through the room.

Addie let's go of my hand.

The entire world is silenced for about twenty seconds.

A tall man in black rushes to the stage and whispers in his ear.

The man clears his throat and faces us again.

"Since there is no representative for this award, we will award it to the runner-up."

He laughs awkwardly and opens a new envelope that the tall man left him.

"The Tony goes to..."

Addie reaches for my hand again.

"Addison Blue!"

The whole crowd screams.

Addie loosens her grip and turns her head to face me.

Her eyes regained their flame.

She hugs my neck and doesn't let go for a good ten seconds.

Her blue heels click softly as she walks to the stage.

The guy hands her the trophy.

I stand to my feet and yell.

He hands her a microphone.

"Um..."

She trips on her words.

"God..."

She laughs awkwardly.

I swear she looks me right in the eyes.

"I just want to say...This wouldn't be possible without my cast members, both Hamilton and Cats. I know it's generic but it's true."

She smiles at me and doesn't look away.

Oh God...

"And my first and best friend, Charlotte. You've probably heard of her. She's like, a big deal."

Darren wraps an arm around me and kisses my cheek.

"I'm not gonna lie, this has been a rough ride. It's not been easy. Trust me. This..."

She motions widely to the entire room.

"Is worth it."

Her voice breaks.

She hugs the man and walks back to her seat, the crowd literally dies.

That's my girl.

She hugs me and sits back down.

Too bad she had to take it from her dead fiancé.

Yeesh.
