5 weeks later.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

I groaned hatefully at my alarm clock. I pushed the off button, and closed my eyes.

Then I remembered what I was supposed to do today.

I shot out of bed, and dashed to my closet.

Today was the day the cast list went up for our shows.

Addie auditioned for Phantom of the Opera, and I auditioned for In the Heights.

I tore open the sliding doors and frantically sorted through my clothes.

Christmas sweater? Too festive.

Red dress? I'll think about it.

Hamilton T-shirt? Too desperate.

I pulled Katie's sweater out, and sighed. I slipped the soft fabric over my head.

I pulled on a pair of jeans, and went out to get breakfast.

I looked at my watch.

An hour and a half until the list goes up.

I hatefully slurped my coffee. The window behind me began to rattle.

Someone was banging on the window. I craned my neck to see Addie's face in the glass. She grinned so wide I thought her jaw might break.

I motioned for her to come in.

She hurriedly came to sit with me.

"Only an hour and a half Charlotte!"

I smiled and put down my coffee.

"I know! I can't wait! Are you nervous? I'm nervous. Do you think you got a part? I might have gotten one." I blabbered on.

"Of course you got a part! You're Charlotte Spencer! They'd be stupid not to give you a part." Addie interrupted.

We talked for an hour then got up hastily. We decided to go to the theater where Addie's list was up first.

I stepped back and let her look. She froze.

"I didn't get one."

"Aw. Addie." I went to hug her, but she pushed me away.

"Let's just...look at your list." I cringed away and began walking to my list.

The closer we got, the better I felt. It felt like I was walking on cloud 9. Addie followed behind be solemnly. She put her earbuds in, and looked up at the sky.

When we finally reached the theater I felt as if I might explode. I looked carefully at the cast list.

Usnavi: Darren Bara (I know I didn't use real ones)

Nina: Addie Blue (I also know she isn't Puerto Rican but it's my story.)

I smirked. I secretly sent the tape of her singing to this theatre too.

Sonny: Alex Twao

Vanessa: Charlotte Spencer

I smiled so wide.

"Addie come here." I grabbed her arm and pulled her to me.

She gasped and hugged my neck.

"What did you do Charlotte Spencer?"

I smiled and said, "Nevermind that. Let's go get some celebration lunch."

We had sandwiches back at my apartment.

I texted the others to see if they wanted to go out for supper.

(I'm switching up the texting thing because it was taking too long.)

Just a refresher.
Anthony is Ant Man
Mitch is Mitch the Witch
Angel is 😇
Alexander is Tatertot
Addie is Australian Addie
Chris is Christopher Robin
David is Diggy
Got it? Good.

Charlotte: Hey guys! Want to grab dinner at Lovelys tonight? I have big news.

Ant Man: I'm down.

Mitch the Witch: Same. Angels in too

Tatertot: Cool. I'll be there. What time?

Charlotte: six. Addie and I will meet y'all there.

Christopher Robin: Chris and I are open

Charlotte: Sweet see ya tonight.

I put down my phone and sent Addie home to get ready.

"Don't forget. Lovelys at six."

Addie clicked her tongue and winked.

She disappeared down the hall.

I closed my door and tried to think of a way to say it.

A few hours later I sat quietly at our normal table. Addie bounced in, still high off excitement, her curls bouncing up and down with every step she took.

After her Mitch and Angel walked in. They trudged sleepily to our table.

"What's this about Charlotte?" Mitch growled.

Ever since we were in the hospital I really started to pay attention to her words.

"I'll tell you when everyone gets here."

Chris and David walked in, Anthony walking after them. Chris and David had these goofy smiles on their faces. They all took a seat in their normal seating position.

Then Alexander came in. He must have been the only one to get the memo that this was important. He wore a green polo and a purple bow tie.

He came up to our table. I held back a snicker.

"Hello everyone." He took a seat next to me.

My heart skipped a beat.

Gross. That's weird.

"Sooooo...Why are we here again?" Mitch asked.

Addie and I smirked.

"Go ahead mate. I won't interrupt."

I smiled.

"I got a part on Broadway."

Silence.

"No way! Charlotte that's amazing!" Alexander took my hand and helped me up. Then he spun me around like in the garden.

"Addie got one too! We are both going to perform on the same days!"

Out table erupted into shrieks and laughter.

The waitress brought us out drinks.

Alexander put an arm around my shoulder, and held up his glass.

"Here's to the dreamers then?"

We raised our glasses.

"To the dreamers!"
