Rain patted the roof of my apartment, making slight tapping noises.
I yawned, reaching for the ringing phone.
"Hello?"
I heard muffled speak from the other side.
I pull the phone away from my face, looking at the name.
Lin.
"Lin?"
I said a hint of warning in my tone.
"Oh!"
There was slight shuffling and a clear voice speaking.
"Hey Charlotte. I know you might not be a fan but there is like this pig party for all the casts on our street."
He paused, sensing my confusion.
"Ya know for like celebration of a year with good fortune and stuff."
I laugh slightly.
He laughs forcefully as well.
"Yea. Little ironic. Anyways...I was just wondering if you wanted to come or..."
I looked at my ceiling.
No reason being a douche about all this.
"Count me in."
I heard the smile in his voice.
"Good. See you there."
A beeping noise sounded as he hung up.
I smile, remembering that almost three years ago I would have killed to talk to Lin-Manuel Miranda at three am.

"Woah!"
I cry, turning back from my doorway to grab my keys.
I smile, walking down the street.
My street.
I laugh slightly.
When I reach the theater, my theater, I stop to slap a branch on Daveeds tree that Addie planted.
All that work and all he got is a tree.
He died and got a tree.
That's all he left behind.
A fucking tree.
A familiar and friendly face meets me at the door.
"Kurt!"
I practically jump into his arms.
"I'm so proud of you Miss Spencer."
I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Oh Goodness! Sorry. Mrs. Bara."
I smile sadly.
"I know dear."
He hugs my neck, mumbling nice words into my hair.
I take a deep breath and open the doors.
A gentle breeze floods my face.
This place always is cold.
Kurt locks his arm with mine.
"I'm here."
I smile at him, wiping my face with the sleeve of my fancy shirt.
"I love your shirt."
I scoff.
"I got it at Target for five bucks."
He doubles over laughing.
Lin greets me.
I notice the large groups of people surrounding us.
There are chairs and tables on the stage.
Why did we plan it here?
Because the Hamilton crew is sorta new.
That why.
A finger taps my shoulder.
I turn around, automatically regretting it.
"Hey Char."
Oak stands protectively behind Addie.
I grip Kurt's hand.
Be kind Charlotte.
Smile Charlotte.
Don't be rude Charlotte.
"Hello."
Lin stares awkwardly at us.
"Please stop being mad at me Charlotte."
My face contorts into a scowl.
I take a deep breath.
"I'm not mad."
She loosens up.
I can feel it.
"I'm just too late."
She tenses up.
I pull Kurt away.
"You're my arm candy tonight."
He smiles and pats my head.
"Anytime."
