Mitch was leading me with a blindfold over my eyes through New York City. Is this a good idea? She, Angel, and Katie had been plotting something. I knew it. They giggled and stopped me abruptly. "Ok you can take off your blindfold now." Mitch said quietly. I almost didn't hear her over the buzz of New York City. I took the rough piece of fabric off of my face and felt the breath being taken from my lungs. Richard Rodgers Theatre. I stood in silence staring at the sign. I felt myself stop breathing for a moment. Such a fan girl. "What do you think?" Katie's voice joined the thousands of other voices swirling around us in the busy street. I saw the beautiful bright sign. "Mitch heard you singing to the soundtrack once." I remembered that day. I smiled still gaping at the magnificent sight. The girls giggled at my face but I didn't care. You really didn't throw away your shot Charlotte. I laughed at my own cheesy musical reference. "What did I do to deserve you?" I asked taking my eyes off the sign for only a moment to look at my friends. They all hugged me from every side and for what seemed like the first time in forever I felt like someone actually cared about me. Not just out of pity. But really and truly cared. "Hey uh Charlotte are you going to make us stand here all night and look at the sign?" I punched Mitch in the arm playfully. "If you keep it up I will." I giggled. I sighed heavily. "You guys really are the best." "Yea we do make your life pretty amazing dear. Don't forget that in a few years when you're famous." Katie said chuckling. I wish. I stared one more time at the bright sign. One day. I felt the theatre calling me from a young age. My mom always told old me that the day I was born she knew I was going to be something amazing. Someone nobody saw coming. Like a gunshot. It's fast and furious but yet no one sees it coming. I smiled remembering her giving me the comedy and tragedy earrings. Mitch grabbed my wrist. "Ok Missy lets go eat I'm starving!" And I was being dragged through the busy streets of New York City once again. Is there a better city to be dragged through?
